Threw on a pair of my buddy’s knee sleeves for tonight’s squat session for shits and giggles…never used them before but I was pleasantly surprised…ended up hitting a lifetime PR even though I’m in the middle of a conditioning cycle and pushing the Prowler 3-4 nights a week…
Anybody that says they just use these things to “keep their knees warm” are either full of shit, or are using them wrong…I got a ton of pop out of the hole!

Jeeze I can pull 550 DL easy, but can only squat 315. Currently 178lbs. Dead lifting is just so much easier for me, but squating kills me
You might be getting more pop because of the proprioceptive feedback they provide… i.e. it’s all you bro! Haha anyway nice looking squats.
LOL…I’ve squatted in them for a few years now…I’m flat footed so the special insoles are designed to keep my arch from falling too bad…I think this actually helps me spread the floor a bit better…plus the actual insides are so worn down they might as well be flat by now! haha
BUT I think im getting a pair of squat shoes for Christmas, so we’ll see what happens…

That 425x9 was excellent! good work! You would be good for 450x9 if you got some better shoes! How the hell do you squat in those!?!?
Those are similar to the shoes I squat in
How on earth do you guys squat in those??? I bet if you actually got some proper lifting shoes and tried them out you would discover that it feels wayyyy better… I must admit maybe not, but my concern is that you never see anyone wearing those at a world championship…
On a sidenote… Very nice deadlift jakerz. What suit are you pulling in???

Just the one God gave me (raw)… That’s just a Titan singlet, but it does kinda look like a suit.

Here’s a 600lb squat for my name!
Holy smokes buddy way to go. Got a meet coming up?
To answer you from earlier on, training is going pretty well right now. I did pull a hammy deadlifting so those are on the back-burner at the moment.
Benching has been going well. I was doing a linear periodization thing, Ed Coan’s routine. I’m in the final two weeks of that, but I don’t think my elbows will hold up haha. Might just cycle back down to sets of 8+ for a little while
My on again off again relationship with squatting has started heating up again so I’ve decided to take another stab at the Smolov base meso over the holidays. Should be pretty brutal I think… Especially that now, after a few years of lifting, I finally truly understand how to squat raw and get proper depth.
I know you compete IPF single ply, right? What kind of suit are you rockin?

That’s a single ply super centurion. Moderately loose actually - size 40. The thighs are a great fit but my hips are small relative to my 27.5 inch thighs… I will be competing Jannuary 21st but likely won’t cut weight for that one as there will be no national record setting. So I will probs weigh in at 88.5kg but shouldn’t be a problem to cut to 83 for nationals next april. Sorry to hear about the hamstring. As you can squat I bet you will be back at it pretty quick.
