Hit 130 (kg…ok? mid december at a meet. Since I wanted to take a break from bulgarian-style training, I switched to Beyond 5/3/1 (still pretty close to Abadjev’s principles). Did 127kg a couple of days ago, paused on chest, 78kg bw, 38 yo.
I realize I’m the lightest and oldest one in this race…that motivates me a lot !
Alright, I’m not even close, but why not?
BW 180
Bench 230
When I hit 230 it was with a pause and with a close grip because of shoulder injury, but I’ve since widened my grip so I should be hitting better numbers soon.
im in! running 5/3/1 and hit a 105kg bench for 5 easy reps on my 1+ week, bit far out but my new years resolution was to hit 140kg bench. Currently sitting around 78kg (173lbs) 5’9 and 20 years old
I’m in. 128 kg at 97 kg BW and 17 yo. Just injured my left rotator cuff 2 months ago, my previous best was 136 kg so lets see if in the next 8 weeks I get 140.
My all-time max was 305 a couple years ago. Never got to 3 wheels. Made quite a few attempts, just didn’t get it done. Max is currently probably around 280. So I’m in
I’m down.
192# bw.
Current training max when I did a heavy single a few weeks ago was 290#. It might be a few cycles before I can go singles again, about 3 months so honestly i’m shooting for a 325 by then at the least.
I am in on this as well. Did 292 (132.5kg) in a meet in Nov, and 297 (135) in a meet in Dec. I weigh 148 lbs (67.2kg). can rep 305 for 3 without the pause. Been doing 5/3/1 since Sept.
I’m in. Not sure what my current max is since I haven’t trained in almost 2 months but I hit 275 for a very fast single last week. Stats Age 17, weight 270, Height 6’1". Ill see if I can hit it at the end of this cycle.
ohh 315 will be the death of me, my bench is the most annoying thing. Best so far is 290, I’ve hit 290 easy plenty of times, but once 295 or higher goes on it is a fail. So frustrating. 300, then 315 will be mine. Hardest battle so far in my weightlifting career.
Got 315 for 2 touch and go on my 5/3/1+ Saturday. It doesn’t count till I get that in a comp. Best so far was 297. But in August I could only get 295 for two reps. Tried 300 and could never get it more than once. Started 5/3/1 then and have improved quite a bit.
I messed up, today was my 3’s week. Next week will be my 5/3/1+ workout.
I was able to get 275 for 8 on my amrap set so I should be good on 315.
We’ll see. I’ll be sure to record the joker sets next week.

My best on 275 is 7 so you should have no problem with three plates for 2-3 reps.

Unless 100kg for three is way below your limit, why would you do that the day before a bench day?

I haven’t had proper gym access in 2 weeks, so I missed bench.
I’d just spent 20 minutes stretching and foam rolling, and bro logic dictates that doing mobility work earns you the right to do some bro lifts.
It was after a ton of shoulder work, so it was a bit below my true limits.
It was actually two days before bench (normally there would be 3 days, but busy week and stuff’s getting moved around), and the 3 reps’ volume wasn’t going to impair my recovery that much.
So a combination of me being a bit stupid, and it not really mattering anyway.
Anyway, benched 85kg for 12 today, followed by 95kg for 5 as a joker set
