Don’t compare your insides to another persons outside.

Funny thing about this quote… I’m sitting in class one day and the teacher starts to talk about sayings like this. She brings this one up and NO ONE GOT IT. She had to explain the joke to the rest of the class…pathetic.

Oscar Wilde tries too hard. When you read one of his plays, it reads more like a quote book than a play. There’s something really pathetic about someone who’s constantly trying to prove his own intelligence.

Perhaps, but along the way he came up with some lovely quotes

knowing is not enough you must apply, willing is not enough you must do–bruce lee

“fortune favors the bold” napoleon

“opportunity is missed by most because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work” -Thomas Edison

“Every man is guilty of all the good he didn’t do” -Voltaire

Those who profess to favor freedom and yet depreciate agitation, are people who want crops without ploughing the ground, they want rain without thunder and lightining; they want the ocean without the roar of its many waters. The struggle maybe a morale one, or it may be a physical one or it may be both. But it must be a Struggle. Power concedes nothing without demand; it never has and it never will -Fredrick Douglas

The truth is that there is nothing noble in being superior to someonebody else. The only real nobility is in being superior to your former self - Whtiney Young

Sounds like Laurence Durrell too. There’s a great quote at the end of every paragraph of his books. Not sure if it just comes out that way or is like you say trying too hard.

“The power to cause pain is the only power that matters, the power to kill and destroy, because if you can't kill then you are always subject to those who can, and nothing and no one will ever save you.”

boys have a penis; girls have a vagina.

Haha, here’s one I just read a few seconds ago from Brooks D. Kubik’s latest email, paraphrased heavily:

“There will be moments in your life when it doesn’t matter how you trained, but if you DID train.”
