Questions Regarding Coan/Phil Routine

Hello.

I have two questions and after some searching I haven’t found answers to them. If the answers are hidden somewhere, I apologize.

  1. I will be following Tsampa.org: Coan-Phillipi 10 Week Deadlift Routine this version of the program. It is 10 weeks + 1 week for max attempt / meet day. My question is, isn’t it a bit too much going balls out two weeks in a row, especially when deadlifting (week 10 is hitting the desired 1rm)? I’m asking because there is a pull meet in September and I’m going to plan the cycle so I hit a new PR on the meet. Would it be better to start one week later and skip the last week so week 10 = meet week?

  2. How much can I expect to maintain after the cycle? I’m assuming that this is a peak program and some KG are expected to wither away once completed.
