Questions for John Berardi

How do protein + fat meals that are high II (such as hamburger and salmon) fit into Massive Eating? What about protein + fat + carb that is low II, such as oatmeal, walnuts, cashew butter, and Grow? Sorry if this has already been answered, but I could not find it.

I don’t have an iota of the knowledge that JB has when it comes to stuff like this, but I don’t think you should really worry too much about the II of things like salmon and beef when incorporating them into P+F meals over the course of a day. As far as P+F+low II carbs or low GI carbs, JB has stated before that small amounts of carbs that fit this bill (like beans, veggies) can be incorporated into P+F meals even in amounts over 10g (although you shouldn’t push it too much farther than this) without worry of throwing insulin levels out of whack. Check out his “Winning Formula” series if you want to see some examples of meals that contain P+F+C.
