Christian, if this is not too much to ask for, what does your current diet look like on workout days?
I normally train at 3:30pmā¦
Wake up at 6am: 1 scoop Anaconda
6:30: 1 FINiBAR
9:00: 1 scoop Anaconda
9:30: 300-400g of fruits
12:00: Low-fat fish (tilapia, sole) 200-300g
14:45: 2 FINiBARS
15:00: 2 scoops workout fuel
15:15: 2 scoop SURGE RECOVERY
15:30 - 17:00 (during workout): 2 scoops Anaconda
18:00: 1-2 scoops whey
18:30: 200-300g red meat, green veggies, fish oil
21:00: 200-300g chicken, green veggies, fish oil
Before bed: Low-carbs Metabolic Drive (2 scoops)

You could use leucine for a double pulse⦠e.g. leucine 4-5g, 5-10 min. later 12g casein hydrolysate, 10-15 minutes later solid meal.
But that is overdoing it for the possible slight added benefit.
I was recently at a nutrition conference (met Dr. Z, PhD and all, still looks 25 years old) and the topic of HMB was brought up a few times, even though itās not really a new supplement or anything. The literature is all over the place with non-trained/trained individuals but prices are coming down and I was planning to give it a shot sometime soon. Do you have any experience with the recommended 3-6grs pre-workout?
Also heard some great stuff on Anaconda too, looking forward to trying it. One could make up a badass protocol with a couple added ingredients, that is, if the whole bundle is not as affordable as expected.
Lastly, you really arenāt a big fan of peanuts IF I recall correctly. How are all those FINiBARS treating you?
Just out of interest, is Charles Poliquin aware of or involved in the development of the pulsing protocol? Is he also aware of the new para-workout advancements? Remember he mentioned (a while ago, likely heās changed opinions by now) he liked to have a solid meal pre-workout to stabilise blood sugar levels.
Totally understand the theory behind your protocol and that stable blood sugar is not the goal. Itās just this seems like a major advancement and I have heard coach Poliquin is usually fairly up to date.
BTW, has anyone felt hypoglycemia symptoms 30-40 min. after a pulse? I am, but they usually wear off in about 20 min.
Currently pulsing with 5g LEU + WHY (24g protein) 10 min. after, while I get a good CHY.
Iām currently following the regressive keto diet with 2 or 3 pulses a day integrated.
Iād like to read CTās opinion or anyone else who has had similar issues.
Thank you!
EDIT: When the pulse is close to a dose of HOT-ROX (HRX, 20 min. later, pulse) symptoms are way milder.

Thatās normal (the HOT-ROX thing). Catecholamines blunt the release of insulin (or reduce it) and HOT-ROX will increase the release of catecholamines.
If anything this shows you:
How leucine is effective at stimulating insulin release
How effective HOT-ROX is at stimulating fat loss
I suspect that the symptoms will be much less with CH, and if they stay, I would suggest using Receptormax.

This is very interesting. Iāve made some research and one of the causes of hypoglycemia is, effectively, hyperinsulinemia. And, while on a keto diet, this seems very reasonable.
I think youāre quite right coach. Thank you very much. These findings of yours will surely be the standard athletes will use in the years coming.
During a fat loss phase is it still advisable to pulse with 5g leucine, and then CH 5-10 minutes later prior to meals? In other words, is there any danger that the insulin response caused by the leucine would contradict the fat loss efforts?
If it helps: Iām 185lb at approx. 15% bf and have started a low carb approach (about 75g carbs with 50-60 taken pre-workout).

On non training days following pulses and without carbs, do I have to be aware of the source of protein? of solid meals? Or I can use meats plus fats except first meal that it would be whites.
Iām following Get Jacked training/diet program (weeks 5-8)
I have 6 meals during the day, except the para-workout nutrition.
Until now two of them were from slowly digested protein powder + veggies or SuperFood ( AM & PM snack, because at this time i need handiness and speed).
Breakfast, lunch, supper and before bed are from solid foods.
Not including the para-wo.,
generally, how can I plan amino pulsing ( with WH + leucine )during the day in the āGet Jackedā, and what about my 2 āliquidā snack?
Using whey hydrolysate to pulse, instead of 12 gr of CH ( CH is not available to me), how much grams of WH should i take?
Not including para-workout nutrition,
what are the needs for protein daily intake per pound for one want to use the AMINO ACID PULSING strategy during a fat loss phase ?
