CT, I know this post is for Peri-Workout Nutrition, but I would like to know if I´m doing it correctly as a ¨whole¨
preworkout: Workout - 60 = Alpha-GPC
W - 40 = 1/2 FINiBAR
W - 15 = 1 scoop Surge Recovery
During workout (early half) = 1/2 FINiBAR
During workout (later half) = 1 scoop Surge Recovery
after 90 min
Meal 5: solid food + Flameout
thanks in advance!!!
ps:I live in the dominican republic and everyone thinks I´m crazy while they see me drinking my Surge Recovery during my workouts

You really need to use Surge Workout Fuel. If one thing had to be dropped out it would be the Surge Recovery. But to get an optimal response you need both.
Hey CT,
Have you got any preferences for pre WO carbs from the following? Activated Barley, Dextrose, Fructose,
Maltodextrin, Palatinose, Ultra Fine Scottish Oats, Vitargo Pure.
I was thinking dextrose and Palatinose about 20 mins before mobility work.
Thib - How the heck do I get my hands on some Anaconda? I have heard from insiders that it is the best complex for growth and recovery since Creatine. Just got done with like 4 months of Army operational training and need something to kick into high gear.

If you cut out the Surge Recovery, would the pre-workout FINiBAR and Surge Workout Fuel provide the insulin surge required for decent results? And then which would you ingest during the workout in place of Surge Recovery – FINiBAR and/or Surge Workout Fuel?
Surge Recovery makes me sick before/during workout, and I’d be glad to just use the FINiBARs and Surge Workout Fuel if it is worth it still, but haven’t seen that example mentioned before (probably missed it earlier in the thread, but I’ve been reading regularly).
im carb intolerant/insulin sensitive (insulin sensitive only the last few months)
how would i change the peri/para-workout workout protocol? i understand that Surge has quite a bit of carbs.
would it even matter since exercise promotes insulin sensitivity?
at the moment im ingesting 20g of dextrose in-workout.[/quote]
I don’t understand your question. If you are insulin sensitive it means that you respond well to carbs, so there is no need to change the protocol in that case.
i have a few questions. i train in the morning around 8 am, i usually wake up around 6:30 to get a meal in which is usually 2 scoops of ON gold standard and 50g of carbs from mashed sweet potatoes. at the moment i’m trying to get leaner. would you recommend eating meal 1 and following the protocol or just the protocol? i have 2 scoops of Surge post-workout and then about 90 minutes later, i’ll have some brown rice and chicken. any response would be helpful.
Im currently using a cutting program under your recomendation. After this i intend to try and add lean mass and bring up certain bodyparts while employing the new para-workout protocol. Now, this i imagine wont go down well but i simply cannot afford Biotest supplements, as i live in the UK. I have access to the following:
Pre-workout blend: BCAA, cirillium milate, beta alanine, vitamin b12 ( i often add a german creatine): no carbs in this
Post-workout blend: Whey isolate, waxy maize starch, creatine, electrolyte blend (50g carbs, 25g protein)
Whey supplement: 60% micellar casein, 30% whey isolate
BCAA tablets
i understand that your loyalty is to Biotest however, i was hoping you could guide me on how to implement these products into a para-workout protocol. My plan was this ( i wont mention brands in an effort not to advertise rival companies)
workout - 60: pre-workout blend with an added carbohydrate (not sure what or how much)
workout -15: Post-workout blend (half a serving)
workout + 5: Post-workout blend (other half)
workout + 60: Serving of whey supplement
workout + 90: Serving of BCAA tablets or another whey supplement
All other times of the day I intend to eat meals consisting of animal flesh and vegetables or eggs (omelette in the morning) and considered adding carbs in the form of oats in the morning on leg days.
A fast question:
Can I take my pre or post workout drink with skimmed milk?
So the stomach will act as a strainer (like it makes with water) or will retain everyting making the absortion slowlier (like it happens with soups).
I have a question concerning nutrion in regards to spiking insulin leading up to your workout, I know you talked about this in your article I, Bodybuilder. Im 195lbs guys and im 6 ft. My diet consist of 6 meals daily ranging from 600 calories to 1100 calories and I eat 250 grams of protein a day. How can I spike my insulin to achieve maximum results.
Are you not worried about the copious amounts of Sucralose that you are ingesting with the protocol + any other sources you are getting it from. It seems to be in everything nowa days.
There have been some new studies from a team of Japanese researchers discovered that ingested sucralose
also induces DNA damage in gastrointestinal organs. Specifically, they noted that, â??four
sweeteners (sodium cyclamate, saccharin, sodium saccharin, and sucralose) actually
induced DNA damage in gastrointestinal organs…
Here is some info if you care to read:
I fell in love with the Biotest product line on sight and now am a little dissapointed. Why not just use sugar or smething similar(stevia). I would much rather have a few calories extra than destroy my internal organs.

man read the thread…all the info you need is there
First thanks again for all of the great info! I searched these threads but couldn’t find the answer but if you already answered this I apologize! I train first thing in the morning before work. How would you recommend doing peri-workout nutrition? Would I have a solid meal first, or start with the Finibar immediately upon waking and continue with the protocol through the workout? Thanks again for your time!
I’ve been tested as insulin resistant. The doctor has me an a protocol for this taking supplements that make my body more sensitive to insulin. I’ve also been dieting and using a fat loss geared workout. My questions after reading your responses to this thread are these.
Per your post recommendations I’ve been taking.
.2 g BCAA per bodyweight 45 minutes prior to workout.
Should I take my whey protein 1/2 way during the workout?
