Glad to see you still have a sense of humor!!!
Jack, I have what is probably a stupid question, but I’m gonna ask it anyway…“Can the shirt ‘compensate’ for a healed partially torn Pec???” Maybe phrasing it slightly different…“Can the shirt take some of the strain off the Pec?” Or, “does wearing the shirt put more strain on the Pec because of increased poundages possible?” Do you have any words of wisdom for me in this regard?
Hope you are seeing progress in the direction(s) you are now gearing your training around…as always, my best to you!

yes and no. The shirt will protect and assist your shoulders and pecs, but not prevent further injury once you are dinged. You need to go very carefully here and feel your way up. Lots of high rep db floor presses are the RX when my pecs are tweaked.
Progress is OK, hip improving, bench seems on track, walk through on sold house tommorow…very busy but very focused. Maybe done 3 lift, maybe need 2 operations, maybe will be fine. Will worry about it when i get to Texas.
Priorities!

yes, and if situation dictates that may be second attempt. Right now not sure 601 is there based on training but if saturday i am really on and smoke 1 and 2 attempt i know where i am going.

two funny things going out of gym today
- Somebody asked me how i got my arms so pumped, and i told them deadlifts and chins. No response.
- Another guy told me where somebody was giving away bumper plates. i got 8 45s. Nice.
Later
KB snatch 88x5L+5Rx5 in 4:50. ouch.

Nice…thats a huge bench, at 242? Master?
Free bumper plates, its always nice to randomly save a couple hundred bucks eh?
242 open and master, USAPL Military Nationals. Yeah, the pile of standard 45s they were throwing away was sickening.

warmups so so
135x7, 225x3, 315x1, shirt on 2 board 405x1, 495x1
opener 523 strong 3W
Ennis opened at 534 and Gunny Green opened at 661. Thought about opening at 534-540 to be in better postion if i missed second but rejected idea because i wasn’t there to make an opener.
Ennis stroked 534 but Gunny missed his opener. Ennis hit 545 on his second but i saw he was finished there. i got very psyched knowing i had the winner in my hands with 573.
Stroked it solidly but got 3R for touching below the “xiphoid process”. it caused a different wth effect on me, as in “Hey, wth is a xiphoid process”? Luckily the judge was a member of mensa and repied,"The xiphoid process, also known as the xiphisternum is a small cartilaginous extension to the lower part of the sternum which is usually ossified in the adult human.
By age 15 to 29, the xiphoid usually fuses to the body of the sternum with a fibrous joint. Unlike the synovial articulation of major joints, this is non movable. Much the way the first seven ribs articulate with the sternum, the cartilage in the celiac plexus joins on the xiphoid process, reinforcing it, and indirectly attaches the costal cartilage to the sternum."
“Oh”
So Gunny gets setup much better and hits 661. For aminute it looked good but stayed calm and called for repeat. Ennis missed 551 on thrids, and i was confident i was going to hit this. Tweaked shirt a bit less and touched higher, stroked it but right arm didn’t lock out all the way for 2R. Gunny missed 711.
3rd open. 2nd loser. i hate losing. i hate not PRing more. Gunny is a big fan of overload board work in a shirt. saw lots of ugly DL technique.
Will go easy this week but will take a look at meet i was considering 29 March.
i do not like doing bench only at a full power meet.
