PX : An Offer

A science guy who does not care if the facts he writes about, pretends to help other by teaching might invest some time to learn first.

I will.caps lock.it

THE ISSUE IS WHEN YOU THROW THESE PICS AND SAY YOU ABOUT.GOT THERE ON THESE PICS (12%) AND THEN SOMEONE LIKE.MARZOUK SEES THIS, THINK HE MUST BE 15% IF UR 12% AND THEN LATER REALIZE HE REALLY WAS WAY SOFTER THAN HE THOUGHT

IDGAF IF YOU THINK YOU ARE 12% IN UR HEAD

The “personal training” threads are pretty much the only reason I bother to check this section of the site nowadays.

I don’t think anyone with any degree of sense consider there to be any sort of “race” between the various posters involved in the coaching process, as I’m pretty sure most of us here are able to grasp the concept of genetics, effort, motivation, etc… you know, things a PT can’t control over the web. No one is going to belittle the knowledge of zraw, stronghold, jskrabac or rds821349234702734, or lord the success of one over the other, so long as none of them do bizarrely stupid shit with their “clients” that clearly flushes their protocol(s) down the shitter.

The value of the threads, to me at least, isn’t necessarily found in how quickly these guys can help each poster reach their goals (to a point), but more so in the way the gears turn in their heads when designing the programs. You know, how they form an initial assessment based on lifestyle/training history and turn a basic template into an all-encompassing program customized to the collective idiosyncrasies of each individual.

People following along are certainly welcome to copy/paste the templates into their own training, but being able to see inside the head of each coach, following the critical thinking, strategy and rationale (stronghold has been great with this, I believe) that goes into turning each goal into a reality is very kewl stuff. Particularly with the fairly eclectic mix of folks we get to follow.

Obviously, there’s nothing wrong with offering advice piecemeal as the opportunities present themselves; most here, I think, are capable of tuning in to the various threads across the forum, gleaning what they can and building that base themselves… but there’s a lot to be said for simply following an A → B → C ----> Z transformation all in one place.

I think that’s what people would like to see most, particularly given the fact that your position on certain aspects of lifting differs from that of the other coaches. It would just help to paint a little more of the bigger picture, not to see who can do what faster and use it as bragging rights.
It takes personal direct training to really get to know someone’s strengths and weaknesses and in what way they can progress the most.

I am doubtful of anyone claiming to do this well completely obver the internet.

My goal is to help people think better about how to help themselves, not to literally take their hand and spoon feed them for months over a computer screen.

I can learn more about someone in 10 seconds in the gym than I can in 2 years over the internet.
True, just ask Manti Te’o!!
Edit: opps wrong video I meant this one.

Not bothered at all.

I am bothered by people acting like body fat should be the focus over size…which is what is going on here.

I could see if I had never dropped any body fat…but that isn’t the case.

I simply don’t care at all about being anywhere near contest shape.

Why does me making my opinion clear bother you so much?

Did you miss me writing m,any times I don’t care what my number is?

I never said I got read at 12% body fat with calipers.

I don’t care what number I am in that picture but am proud of what I did to reach that.

Does that clear that up for you?

Although I agree that people should learn to think for themselves, there are plenty of well qualified coaches, who do this well completely over the internet. And there’s pics for proof…
I am sure there are. Good for them.

I personally find being in front of someone gives me far more insight.

I personally dont care about what bf % you think you are but when you post pics like that.and say this is when soft guys think they arent that fat when they are way softer than they’d like.to think
Who cares if I am not exactly 12% there?

Why is that an issue for you?

I don’t care what number I am in that pic. I have stated that already.

Why ignore the muscle I built to focus on body fat like I need to be shamed of it?

I wrote that I may have been close to that. And don’t care if I’m not.

I know I was having great sex at that time and not once heard, “eewwww” so take that as you please.
As long as you are now willing to admit you were nowhere close to 12%. Good for you being happy caring way more than 12% fat, I’m happy for you.

I didn’t say I was “nowhere near”. I said I don’;t care what I am in that picture.

YOU seem to care way more than me for some reason.

I think I looked good in that pic. That is all that matters.

Where did the number 12 come about? I missed it in the 14 pages of crap.

MENTIROSO!!!

I think he mentioned 12% because 10-12% seems to be generally accepted as impressively lean without getting into the relm of contest conditioning where muscle loss would become a potential issue. I am not him so I cannot answer for him but that is my interpretation of why he specifically mentioned 12%

I think I got about there here.

LOL. OK.

You spend pages and pages trying to convince people you only looked fat because you had a big meal. Or that you’re BF% is lower than they think.

But you don’t care what others think. Sure thing.

For instance, that one pic was taken on a super full stomach with me TRYING to make it look as bad as possible.
Why were you trying to look bad?
Because I knew I was about to start dieting. That was that period after a car accident where I was just trying to hold my body weight even. At the time I simply said fuck it and just worked on maintaining that body weight even though my activity was limited.

It was a test to see if that affected the muscle I kept in the long run.

It is pretty much the same thing they do in nearly all diet ads. I just wanted to do one myself.

I had pics taken the same day with less effect.

Does that answer you question?
But why make it artificially as bad as possible? Doesnt that mean any objective self analysis you were aiming at was skewed a little?
?? I already knew what I looked like so how would taking one pic with my belly sticking skew my self analysis?

I’m not the one judging how I look off of only ONE picture. You are.
??? I was just asking why did you stick out your gut when you took the photo to make it look as bad as possible? Was it akin to just pulling an ugly face in a highschool group shot? Were you gurning? ??? You SUCCEEDED in making yourself look REALLY fat though so well done ???..???

Dd you miss yourself doing this?
You don’t like to help people…you like to act like anybody that does not agree with you is an idiot.

That’s why all your threads end up as shit flinging.

Did you miss yourself doing this?
by far best and most accurate post

Did you miss the part about that being how many before and after pics are done in mags? I already told you what my goal was and why. I also posted enough pics here for you to see the difference.

You still haven’t posted how you can claim you have done “both” when you are not my size or near it.

You claim you got huge and dieted down. Do we fault you for not being in contest shape?

I respect the hell out the professor’s physique, big, solidly symmetrical, decently lean. I don’t understand why you take the time to answer these people. If you are cool with how you look and who you are, then simply decline Zraw’s offer and don’t read any further in a thread you know will be full of people flaming you and arguing with anything you post.

I don’t think any training knowledge has been posted here beyond the basics of your shoulder training and that is pretty sad in 15 pages worth of posts. I am not blaming you for this, both sides are equally responsible for the bickering and arguing. I feel sad that some people have nothing better to do than blast each other on an internet forum but that is the human race for you.

To Professor X, just ignore that detractors and post your knowledge the way you want it posted, who cares what other people say in an anonymous forum on the internet, there is no need to defend yourself constantly as it is clear to anyone reading this forum that people will troll anything you post just to argue.

To anyone else, take a real hard look at why Professor X bothers you so much. Who cares what somebody thinks they look like or tells other people they look like. If I want to look a certain way, I’m not going to stop at this or that level because professor X said that’s close to 12% bodyfat, I’m going to continue to train until I achieve the look I want.

People need to lighten up and just breathe, nothing in your life is changed by anything that is posted on this forum by Professor X, so stop acting like jealous children and let the man do his thing. Do yourselves a favor and just stop caring. If you don’t like each other, why let the other people add stress to your life and why spend any time at all worrying about what they post on the internet? J

ust seems like a huge waste of time and energy (as was writing this post for me).

No one has ever faulted you for not being in contest shape.

ironman said you’d look epic at 12%

You posted a picture stating you reached close to 12%

People called you out saying you were not close to 12%

You shifted around and said you don’t even care about being 12%

The problem was you claiming to be close to 12% when you clearly weren’t. How do you not understand that?
