PWO Supps for Hockey Player

Wondering what you’d suggest as a post workout supplement for myself…I’m a professional hockey player in the middle of summer training. I do a low carb diet, the only carbs a eat now are post workout in my post W shake.

I want to keep getting stronger, leaner…I’m not sure what would be best as there is so much to chose from, Surge Recovery, Pulsing, MAG-10, Anaconda, Plazma. Also interested in if Carbolin 19, would this be good to take???

Any advice on this subject for myself would be greatly appreciated!

I work with a ton of hockey players from Canadian Junior to NHL pros. I highly recommend PLAZMA as your main workout supplement. 1 scoop pre-training (20 minutes or so prior) and 1 scoop during the workout. Then MAG-10 (2 scoops) 30 minutes post-workout and 2 scoops 60 minutes post-workout. My training partner plays semi-pro hockey and took 1 scoop of PLAZMA between each period. He also took Surge Recovery after a game.

BTW, a low-carbs diet is npt a great diet for a hockey player since glycogen is the main source of energy when you play. At least if you take PLAZMA pre-workout you’ll have fuel to drive you.

Thanks for the great advice, I will start on those supplements ASAP! Is there any other supplement from T-Nation that you suggest for myself…Also what kind of diet do you suggest for myself as I obviously need more carbs in my diet!

Oh yeah, INDIGO-3G will potentiate the effects of PLAZMA while also programming your body to handle carbs better.

So I would suggest adding 6 capsules twice a day (one of which is about 20 min before your first dose of PLAZMA). Honestly, you don’t need anything else.

Aces my friend!!! Thanks for all the info!!!

CT, I’m Doing the Idigo-3G 30min before my pri-workout Plazma…Then the Plazma before workout…Then during…Then the MAG-10 30min after workout, then again 60min after that,…it seem to give me the runs if ya know what I mean! Am i doing this correctly and just need to give my body time to adjust to this type of supplementation, or am I doing something wrong…Do I need to add in whole food during this time???

Probably are sensitive to magnesium, -the cumulative dose is pretty high with this plan. Take any vitamin supps with mg far away from your training time and maybe cut one of the servings in half, especially as even just one scoop of MAG-10 gives pretty incredible recovery

I’ve been taking tons of magnesium for years, I’ve been on the poliquin mag supps but i only take them at night…I’ve lowered the dose at night considerably since the MAG-10 has some in it. I will cut the last serving of MAG-10 out and have a meal instead, maybe that will do the trick!

Seems like today i just packed in a bit more food in the morning and everything is back on track, I think my body was just adjusting to the new supplements! I’m really liking the supplements…My workouts are full of energy and I recover great with the MAG-10!!!

Good to hear, keep us posted on the progress
