Im currently putting together my new GHR. One of the “lock knobs” wont screw into its place properly. I can screw it in half way and it wont go in anymore. It is the fault of the “lock knob” as I have three of them in my kit and one of them works in all three holes, but 2 of them wont screw in all of the way.
What should I do? Im scared of forcing the screw in as I feel I may be “mashing” the thread.

Clean the threads with a wire brush. One of the disk types that chucks into the end of a drill (fine stainless bristles).
Wear your safety glasses, and don’t run the brush into your fingers.

The steel or the copper ones?[/quote]
I like the stainless steel ones. The brass or mild steel seem to shed bristles while in use, to the point of having to pull a couple out of my face every so often.
do you know anyone with a tap and die set? just get the right tap and clean the threads up. make sure you use oil.
also clean the screw threads up if they need it.

TLDR
are the threads on the bolt coined(dented in a way)? you may need to file them down.
