This kid at my school gym was squatting in a pair of Dockers and Wallabys… then asked me if I was doing pullups to build up my chest… It wasn’t the same kid who tried to explain how he was doing ‘decline’ bicep curls on the hack squat when I told him I needed it to squat. It was a bad day all around
It’s simply not a fashion show for some of us. If I pull out my Yucko the Clown t-shirt with cut off sleeves (done by me) then that’s what I wear. I don’t care if I match, don’t care if it’s “cool” looking. I’m not there to impress, I’m there to lift.
Strangely enough when I wear my ratty clothes I get left alone much more than when I wear my UA stuff. For some reason Ipod on high and headphones in still invites conversation for some people.
Yep, I get that. I just think it’s a riot when people try and rag on others for wearing something they’re comfortable in.
It isn’t about noticing other people, it is about THE PEOPLE HERE, on this site who apparently work out with the intensity of a 3 year old yet wonder why they aren’t gaining much muscle.
These are the types who make posts about how they gained 5lbs but all of it was fat.
Clearly people like that don’t even know what hard work is and they think their specific rep range is what will put muscle on them despite not even straining at all.
I realize that X, I can’t speak for anyone but me, and when I first started back when I was 18 I was who you are describing today. Granted I didn’t know about this site back then, but it takes a lot of trial and error and growing up to realize just what it takes to reach that level. Hell, I don’t think I’m at that level but I know I have what it takes to get there and I’ll die trying to attain my goals and give every ounce if I have to.

Fair enough, but it goes both ways.
I see guys in matching UA gear. I’m talking shoes, socks, headband, shirt and shorts. This one guy, who looks to weigh 140 at the most has 2 outfits, a red UA, and a blue UA. Oh and he has matching earbuds as well. I don’t normally bring my phone to the gym, but I’m gonna start so I can snap pics of the guy.
We don’t seem to get as many of these UFC wannabes in mainland Europe. Probably a good thing. I am curious though how someone can splash out $70 on a cotton t-shirt to wear to the gym? It’ll get ripped to shreds, surely?

Well…that would be why they don’t train that hard, of course!
Why all the hate against Ed Hardy clothes? They are starting to become overhyped around here, but I like a portion of the designs and am not getting the hate.
What’s this Velocity Diet 3.o thread that got mentioned?
As for my contribution… I felt light-headed and dizzy today after a set of high(ish)-rep front squats. Go me!
Nice post X, it’s funny, I’m single right now and my Mom mentioned I should meet someone at the gym, since I’m so focused on health and performance. I had to explain that when I’m at the gym, NO ONE wants to talk to me. I got Rage against the Machine blaring in my headphones, I’m sweating and breathing heavy, walking funny if it’s leg day, eyes usually get a little bloodshot action going and I’m all amped up and muttering to myself for my next heavy set of something.

Ed Hardy is fine with me. I’m not going to drop that on a shirt, but if you want to more power to you. I’m talking about the people who wear it as gym attire. Then again, I live in Rocklin, CA; it’s pretty affluent here, so I guess no big surprise.

If a tshirt costs $75 then it deserves to be hated on. IMO. $75 is for shit that buttons up…

LOL. I get this bad on chest day for some reason. After my first heavy set I feel like my head will explode and it looks like I just took a huge rip off a bong minus the squinty eyes.

When I walk into the men’s restroom, I am usually coming in to take a piss. I may even look in the mirror for 10 seconds to see what I’ve been working on for years…then I leave.
When you enter the men’s restroom, you:
a) Set up a tent and cooking utensils because you know you will be here a while.
b) Take off all of your clothes and strut your 67 year old flabby naked ass around the locker room as if you are invisible despite the puking noises occurring behind you.
c) Sit down with your “boyfriend” and stare at all of the “yummy” guys walking through the front door hoping for a chance to see glistening naked man ass before they change.
d) Take a deep breath because the conversation you are about to start aimlessly between yourself and…anyone who will listen is going to need lots of oxygen.
e) hoping to piss without seeing another 67 year old air drying his wang in front of everyone.

ed hardy is just super played out
they sell it in fucking Foot Locker for fucks sake.
i like some of the designs too but
A) its wicked over priced
B) everyone has it
therefore youll never see me with it.
you can buy way better looking shirts for half the price and youll never see anyone wearing em
