Pushups

is there a formula to figure out what the actual weight is that you are pushing when you do a pushup, obviosly if you weigh 200 lbs, you are not pushing 200 lbs, because you are basically a lever w/ your feet on the groud, anyone know… thanks

Easy way to figure it out. Get into push up position with your handds on a scale (of course your hands will be closer together than when doing push ups, but the moment arms aren’t going to change). The reading on the scale is the weight you’re lifting.

Lean on a scale.

Of course, the longer your arms are, the less the weight becomes as you push yourself up.
