Sweet!!
So i’ll take on the handstand pushups and the pullups and chins (separately) challenge.
There is no way in hell I can MP 135 - unless you give me about 5 years. So i’ll leave that to all you studs.
And i’m totally calling vids for the HS pushups (for posterity and for possible epic face-plants).
Nikki - 42? You’re a beast. Did you do the whole lifting of hands business…

Is everyone in here doing the stop on the bottom, quick lift of the hands style pushups? Cause if so I’m gonna feel like a total wuss! We’re gonna have to see some videos posted up here soon :)
Yeah I hope not too! Can Mr’ “I could probably do 70” tell me that he is using a 4" ROM?
I’m gunna get depressed
The OHP @ 135 for reps is cool too, but not a push press, it has to be a controlled OHP.
Edit: I’m doing Military Press tomorrow night anyway, so I’ll warm-up and max out with 135 before doing any work-sets. Anyone else in? I probably will get around a dozen maybe, pretty weak but why not?
Ok when i can do 70… i will post a vid of it, and yeah i was usin a full ROM
are you stopping with your chest on the ground and lifting your hands before performing the next rep? (im not trying to call you a liar I’m just asking. I’m definitely calling that 120 guy a liar though lol)

I would suck at that… baaaaad! I tore my labrum and had it surgically repaired in september. I cant press a BB for shit. Its just painful… so I’ll have to pass on that one (for some reason HSPU’s dont bother me though?)
OK even I don’t know about the hand lift thing. I pause for sure and it’s a damn sight harder than a bounce, but I’ve never pulled my hands back further to leave the ground. Is that a military thing? I’ll do it if we decide it’s the only way to be sure. To be honest I’d rather just film and post if my forms in question.
OHP 135 for reps gonna see what my max is tonight. might even film that one. I’ve got a vid of me pressing 225 for a single in my profile. That’s my standard form. No jump, bump, hump, or slump. Just a solid press to lock out. Well afterward there might be some pump.
BTW great job Nikki9591

And those were dead stop pushups where you lifted your hands off the ground at the bottom? I’m going to have to call bullshit until we see a video
I’m also going to have to call bullshit. I’m not saying it’s not possible, but I would need to see to believe.
All the way to the floor, stop, and all the way up with arms fully extended? x 120?
In school with the beeper I did do it legit. I been doing pushups since I was 6 I remeber 6 grade doing 50 plus. I always wanted to workout so I did many pushups like 400 a day not at one time

I do not know what you mean by dead stop but I did go all the way down. Ill post a video one of this days doing 100 pushups instead of 120 I don’t want it messing with my recovery but 100 for sure ill post when I go down to my aunts bhouse cause we don’t have internet I use my droid phone and can’t upload anything.
I used to be good at situps at 1 minute too but ever since I started lifting I got worse at it. I used to get like 80 in a minute in 6th grade now I get like 60 even though I’m much stronger maybe 70 idrk.

Yeah I read the entire thread before doing it, so I did chest to ground (not that hard since my boobs are big
) and stopped at the bottom, then fully extended arms.
As for the hands, I raised up my palm. Did you want plyo push-ups or what was I supposed to raise?

Lol! Nah girl. I totally believe you. Effing impressive.
I’m doing the handstand pushups tomorrow. You game?

-
Start by lying flat on your stomach/chest with your hands in push up position.
-
Press yourself up to lockout in the plank position.
-
Lower yourself back down to position 1.
-
Quickly lift your hands up off of the ground then right back into position 1.
-
Repeat.
Does that explain it?
I’m going to have to go ahead and say you need to touch your chest to the ground or there is no standardization of a rep.
Has anyone tried that texas pushup challenge from the article a few months ago? Do one pushup, standup, do 2 pushups stand up etc… see if you can get up through ten. Standardized by touching chest to the floor it is fucking brutal. I think up through 10 is 52 pushups altogether…

Ok this push up thing has been getting too complicated. I’m going to shoot a quick video of what this pushup is supposed to look like and post it for reference

K sarge that’s how I’ll do em from here on out for the testing.
here ya go… end confusion.
Perfect. There should be an initial demp vid to show the challenge and to avoid anyone not knowing what/how to participate.

these are the pushups that the contest is about… easier to actually count full reps.

Sure what are we doing? Max HSPUs we can do? Not much of a contest on my part.
So worth the confusion to get a vid of Greg doing push ups
Okay I did them over, I like those a lot better. My arms and chest are killing me though.
Anywho, push-ups done the correct way is 43. I’ll get a vid up when my arms aren’t numb.
