I tried them a few months back, and just went down, head touched the ground and didn’t budge. I’ll retry them though.

These fucking contests are going to be the death of me, I can feel it already.

I don’t understand what lifting the hands means…someone describe it, I’m slow lol.
I did them my way. Chest to the floor. 20 seconds in, I was at about 15-17, and then I died. I did chest today, so my triceps are a bit tired. I’ll try this again on back day, with the right form. blah.

I don’t see why there has to be a date. just do them post your results! Post up a video so we believe you.

I’ve done some HSPU against a wall, can’t balance for the life of me my legs are to big! haha been practicing that though.

When we say lift your hands you do a pushup and on the way down when your chest touches the floor you slightly lift your hands off the floor right back into a pushup.

I see what you mean. Thanks.
x2.

I like the idea of a squat comp. Maybe instead of just bodyweight, we could have a low weight as well.

My gym has a record board, one of the records is 50kg back squat for reps. The current record is 75.

I think theres plenty on T-Nation who could smash that

Anyone keen?

this is turning into a challenge thread and I like it!

Ok so these are the challenges I did today in order (probably not the best idea to do them all in one day but oh well)

Hand Stand Push Ups: 4… did them in my living room.

not a challenge but I worked up to a new max DL at the gym

135 C&P in 2 minutes: 19 reps (was bummed cause i wanted 20+ but my low back was definitely tired after the DL’s)

Dead Hang Pull Ups: 15 (arms were tired after C&P but its a baseline to work from. stopped at 15 cause I knew i’d need a little body english for 16

and my dead stop push ups number is already on here from yesterday

I got 120 without ever training endurance in a long time at 186 at 5 5 and and a half got 100 in less than 100 seconds and the other 20 in singles in I don’t know how long athough I got it in school with the beeper

^^video of these 120 pushups?

And those were dead stop pushups where you lifted your hands off the ground at the bottom? I’m going to have to call bullshit until we see a video

Hey gregron, 15 pull ups is a pretty good number. How many chins can you do?

I’m also going to have to call bullshit. I’m not saying it’s not possible, but I would need to see to believe.

All the way to the floor, stop, and all the way up with arms fully extended? x 120?

If this does become a challenge thread I like the idea of either handstand PUs or at the least a military press challenge.

handstand PUs like pullups are a bit hard to judge sometimes. I’m pulling or pushing 250 every rep while someone else may be pulling 190 etc. But you could say that I should be as strong for my weight as the next guy to.

I would throw MPs @ 135lbs for max reps out there.

I’m gonna retest my pushups today and post.

Masch don’t leave us yet you’re the only girl so far. See if you can beat your former 33.

Ok i just found this… just got in from the gym doing chest so i died afer 37 seconds lol. But in thos 37 seconds i got 27. i think in 2 mins i cud get a good 70 or so. Normally i can do a good 100 push ups in a row. I’m guna try this fresh and see what i get

Welcome to the party ^

Holy crap that hurt.

Did 42. I started off strong, did 12 in the first 16 seconds then my body reminded my of the chest/shoulders workout this morning.

Count me in.

Is everyone in here doing the stop on the bottom, quick lift of the hands style pushups? Cause if so I’m gonna feel like a total wuss! We’re gonna have to see some videos posted up here soon

No idea cause I never do chin ups but probably less than I can do pullups? I only really did chin ups at army jump school cause that’s how they did it in the army lol.

My best ever dead stop to chin over the bar was 24 in a row with no body English.

Yeah I hope not too! Can Mr’ “I could probably do 70” tell me that he is using a 4" ROM?

I’m gunna get depressed

The OHP @ 135 for reps is cool too, but not a push press, it has to be a controlled OHP.

Edit: I’m doing Military Press tomorrow night anyway, so I’ll warm-up and max out with 135 before doing any work-sets. Anyone else in? I probably will get around a dozen maybe, pretty weak but why not?
