Push-up Contest?

^^Depends on what you’re wearing and the angle of the camera for those squats… I’m sure if it was a lacy thong and some high heels people would gladly watch for 30 minutes :slight_smile:

2 minute max BW squats would be good IF there was a way to ensure proper depth. It would be hard to define/enforce squats that were parallel or below for everyone ya know?

But you guys work on your max BW squats. If everyone in the beginning of the video showed a ruler measuring a bos that was 6 inches high and showed the butt touching each time, that will ensure depth.

I don’t know why I’m making suggestions, I’m doing 600 tonight so I’m not going to want to squat for a week.

i like the body weight on the bar, but we would have to film the scale before starting.

I’m in although I’m more of a deadlifter myself. I’ll have to get some video of me squatting to check how good my form actually is. You know what they say about assuming anything.

have the honor system. if you want to get a contest going with bodyweight squats, no need to tape it, just be truthful and post your reps and times. who cares if a few decide to cheat. they are only cheating themselves. plus there is no prize anyway, so who cares if a guy did 50 but said 500. the majority will be truthful.

Shit, bodyweight on the bar and I’m maaaaaybe gunna get 1!! My squat has sucked, but is actually increasing with 5/3/1, I could maybe hit 275 once, which is 10# over what my BW (220) would be. But you guys have fun with that one, I’ll watch from here

I’m also putting a vote in for BW on the bar. That just sounds more fun!

Squats have to be parallel or below - how deep you go is up to you…I might try this tomorrow! Should I do it for two mins?

parallel is fine, If your within a few pounds of what you weigh who cares. There is no money up for grabs. I weigh around 182 I’ll use 185 who cares. I say who cares about time limit it is pure torture doing high rep squats like that if you want to do it for 10 minutes good for you.

I won’t be doing this for at least two weeks as I have a highland games on the 7th but after that I look forward to torturing myself.

Do you weigh 260? if not than you would only have to squat 220

Aha! I thought we meant BW loaded ONTO the bar, as in BW+45# bar weight. I’m sure I could hit 220 for a few, I’ll see next week

I’m gonna give this BW squats thing a try… im between 205-210 so we’ll see how many reps I can get… hopefully 20+ reps

Strong work, You don’t look like you weigh very much so your strict press is legit!

i weigh around 175lbs right now. i would love to get a bodyweight oh-press by the ende of this year. i think it should be possible.

last christmas a friend of mice challenged me to rep out pl-squats with 100kg and i did 26. maybe i will try the bodyweight-squat tomorrow, shootin for 30+

Right on, no offense you look a little smaller. I weigh a little over 180 right now and the bw oh press is one of my current goals as well. My problem is right off the shoulders. I can do 185 right now if I push press the first than touch and go the second and use the speed to push through. I was told to put a little over your max on the bar and just push a few inches as far as it will go for 3x3 and have incorporated that, hopefully it helps.
