Purpose of FINiBARs with ANACONDA

I look at ANACONDA and I can see that it has a purpose. It’s unique and no other products on the market offer a comparable ingredient profile.

But I notice that the ANACONDA protocol also includes FINiBARs and I wonder what the point of them is. Here’s the basic nutrition in a FINiBAR:
Calories: 280
Fat: 8.5g (3g saturated)
Carbs: 41g (15g sugar)
Protein: 13g

Now compare that to some other bars:
VPX Zero Impact Bar
Calories: 440
Fat: 20g (4g sat)
Carbs: 35g (6 sugar)
Protein: 30g

2:1 Protein Bar
Calories: 250
Fat: 4.5g
Carbs: 15g (3g sugar)
Protein: 32g

So why buy FINiBARs? If you want more calories, the Zero Impact looks better, and if you want less, the 2:1 Protein looks better. Also, I noticed that the FINiBAR page says it “Protects against muscle damage during intense competition and training.” How exactly does a candy bar protect against muscle damage?

FINiBARs are much more than a “candy” bar. They have low GI and long lasting carbs to fuel exercise. They also have high quality protein, but the main purpose is the palatinose and rice oligodextrin (the carbs) to provide steady energy throughout the session.

Sure those other bars may have more calories or appear similar in nutritional profile, but there is more to it than just CHO, Pro, fat, and Calories.

I can notice a difference in my workouts when I have a FINiBAR before hand, and besides they taste damn good!

It drives water into the muscles- preventing injury. It spikes insulin- from the carbs- which facilitates the aforementioned muscle hydration.

Go buy some hydrolyzed casein and snickers bars and try the protocol. I’m betting the ANACONDA protocol will give you much better results- and better taste. A moderator will probably chime in with an official statement.

Have a nice day!

Ask me about the carbohydrate source.

If you have to refer to a FINiBAR as a candy bar, you shouldn’t even ask

ps, nice first post

Thanks for the replies. I’m still a bit confused about the type of carbs that are in FINiBAR. Some people say it’s supposed to spike insulin, others say it’s supposed to provide long-lasting, slow but sustained energy.

In the thread about ANACONDA having no carbs, someone said that FINiBARs do NOT spike insulin. So which is it?

look at the ANACONDA protocol page, under the tab “Instructions and Details”. It says in the table that insulinogenic proteins and partitioning carbs come from the FINiBARs. that’s what i’m basing my responses on.

It only takes about 25 g of carbs to spike insulin.

so am I right? or completely off base?

About what? I think you are right, nothing you said wasn’t correct to my knowledge.
