I am looking to purchase a Leg Sled and am leaning towards this one.
I think this will fit the bill nicely. I have been impressed thus far with the quality of the PowerTec line.
Does anyone have any advice against it or another manufacturer which might be better?
how much is that going to run you. You would be better off buying a power/squat rack, a bench, bar, and some weight. Especially if that thing is over $1000.
I also thought you meant a dragging sled from the subject. Isn’t that more of a leg press/hack squat machine?

I already have the squat rack, bench bars and weights, as well as a seated calf machine dumbbells and accessories. Looking to add to my plethora of equipment.
PowerTec calls it a sled which is why I used the term.
I have their rack and bench, which is why I was leaning towards their leg sled. It is running at $499
I would argue against making the purchase. What do you hope to gain from this that you could not gain better from doing squats, etc, with free weights?
I bought one of these second hand for $200 and it had several drawbacks. I turned around and sold it on craigslist for $300. Don’t buy anything like this brand new. Patrol craigslist and you can find anything you want. The amount of weight you can put on it is limited. Even with 100lb. plates you run out of room really fast.
I tried to rig it up with some home-made remedies and it started to have sticking points along the bearing runners. The adjustable back brace always felt like it was going to give way. Good for calves though.
If I were you, I’d either get a safety squat bar(NY Barbell), a hip belt squat(Ironmind), one of those things Dave Draper sells, or a device to do Lumberjack squats like on Thib’s newest article. You can’t miss with the Ironmind hip belt.

You pose an excellent question!
You know I see it used in so many figure competitors routines, that I had not thought twice about why. Why would they choose the machine? Could there be another reason?
Anyway, I’ll pose the question to some of the figure gals and see how they respond.
