Psychology of Big Part 1

Mike Mann,

I accept your apology on your misinterpretaion of my previous post.

The whole point of using the Sadam and Bin Laden example was to point out that you do not necessarily need a personal viewing of anothers actions to make a judgement on whether you want to pick up on their literature. As I have previously stated never making a judgement can be even worse than never judging anyone for anything.

For example, they say Adolf Hitler was a spell binding speaker. I ask you, does that make him a good person? He was wealthy, he had power, he put Germanys economy well ahead of other European nations, he was a great orator.

Make no mistake about it I am not putting Robbins in the same league with Hitler(Hitler was a much better speaker lol).

Seriously, its not the motivation that I am against.Robbins is a fine motavator. It is the philosophy and the man behind it that I think needs more scrutinizing.

I guess we have both spent way more time than we should have talking about this guy. I guess thats the way it is when you post something someone does not like-They attack-You defend. Yata Yata Yata.I promise never to bring the subject up again (unless someone attacks me for this post

I will change the subject right now. What sort of training are you doing these days?

Can we get back to the topic here: “Psychology of Big Part 1”? Or are we going to turn this into a morality thread?

For those interested, most of the authors listed (Zig Ziggler, Brian Tracy, Jim Rohn, etc.) have weekly or daily e-zines. Sure, they are sales and marketing pieces, but if you look beyond that and take the good I find they are worth the read. Most of the applications are for business, but like many things in life they can be applied to other aspects such as training. If you are interested just PM me and I’ll send you the links.

Thanks, DH, for bringing it back around after our little “tangent” there!

This is a good thread so keep it coming guys…

Do any of you ever get motivated by certain types of music? I have found that this helps in the short term.

If so what types do you like?

I’ve been behind on reading T-Mag and didn’t even realize this article was posted (sorry, Chris!)

I have a lot of issues in my life, most of them pyschological. Most people would consdier me a pessimist. I wonder if this may be limiting me in my fitness goals?

I think this was a great article. However, I’m still having trouble believing the power the mind has.
