Proud of Myself

Im pretty happy tonight. Deadlifting tonight, (conventional), i pulled 375. First time i ever done my max DL. Back feels fine, about to go take a hot shower now. For those wondering, my stats are:

Age: 16
BW: 195
Years lifting: 1.5

i think its alright, pretty high compared to my other lifts. I also done 355 for 3 reps tonight, i probably (hopefully) could have got more than 375, but i didnt wanna hurt myself. For now, im satisfied.

You should be (proud). PR’s are always a good thing. Keep up the progress.

Do you have a short-term goal (DL Max) in mind?

Yeah doing 4 plates would look real nice. 405 is my goal for the summer, cause im not gonna bother cut this year, i dont feel big enough to trim of fsome hard work quite yet

Good dam job! Push and press baby nows the time to bump the numbers!

Mad props dude. Hitting 405 in the deadlift was my first weightlifting accomplishment that I actually felt decent about. Then I read mauraudermeat’s log in the Westside thread and realized how weak I still was haha.

Four plates was a goal for the summer, but I decided to try something new since I was getting bored. Looks like you’ll be getting four plates a few weeks before I will. Nice job.

Sweet job, man. Feels good, dont it?

damn bro, i’m 21, got 2+ years of lifting, but my biggest weights are half of yours… kudos and props! =)

Hot shit. I’m sure you could’ve done more than 375. The stronger you get, the harder it is to find an accurate max number. I lifted with my girlfriend a few days ago and this became very apparent. When you deadlift 375, 380 isn’t much different. However, my girlfriend had a MUCH harder time benching 105 than 100. only 5 lbs, but a 5% increase.

Ok i kind of rambled, but the point is that you should definitely go for at least 380-385 next week. At your age, I bet you’re growing ridiculously fast. I’m only 21 and I feel old hahah

props

Yeah im confident i could have done more. I just dont like to pull an all-out max on a lift such as the DL, there is alot more you can mess up when comapring it to lifts such as the bench. To those who are wondering, i do not powerlift, i dont wan’t to really, it isnt the look im going for. Im more less a bodybuilder (as most of you would assume anyway). Currently benching 260 (lagging a bit), and i squat 320, which isnt so bad. Ill update you guys when i make new PR’s. Im gaining real quick, still. i started off at a tiny 155, not saying 195 is alot, but its a better starting point… hah…

thanks to you guys for the feedback, ill keep you updated.

Okay, I’m 35, happy to have pulled 295 last week, and now I’m feeling old and weak.

Congrats. Going to go hit up the Barcolounger now.

Man, I hate young people that are so much stronger than I am. Im 21 and at 175 the most I ever deadliftd 275x5.

great job anway haha

Update:

Maxed out my bench tonight, and i managed to push up 270. I was prety damn happy with that cause i didnt expect to get it. I might do my squat this week too, for the hell of it. ill let you guys know if i do.

Excellent work. Now aim to increase both these maxes by 10% in the next two months. Then repeat.

You will find your progress slows eventually, but push it hard while you are young. A 500 bench and 650+ DL are somewhere in your future!
