Protein Digestion Speed

I can’t have Whey because I think I’m allergic to it. (I get awful cramps, even if it’s lactose free.) But I can have milk, egg pp, rice pp, and hemp pp. Does anyone know how fast digesting these or other powders are? I’m looking for a fast digesting post-workout one to have instead of Whey. Thanks.

Milk is partly whey, 20% of Milk protein is whey the other is Casein. So milk protein unless its specifically just casein will contain whey. Try switching brands, somew Whey’s are cheap and there is also a difference in them, for instance, concentrate, isolate etc. Just do a search here.

hydrolysed whey as found in Surge usually does not cause problems in those allegic to whey. individual results may vary.

Also do beleive its the other way round is it not 20% casein, 80% whey. Regardless if your not having probs with milk its likely not the whey.

Either way, i’m pretty sure milk protein is 80% casein and 20% whey or as you put it, not 20% casein and not 80% whey.

Thanks for all the replies. I have tried a few brands of Whey and always had problems but I can give Surge a try. If milk protein is 20% whey, it may just be that I don’t have enough milk for the whey to irritate my stomach. If I have 30 grames of milk protein, that means I’ve had only 6 grams of whey. Does anyone know of another fast digesting protein if Surge gives me problems?

It is 80% casein and 20% whey according to an article I read by JB last night in some supplement book.

BCAAs?

I think he just misread what I put. My original thesis was ‘Critical nutritional comparison of milk proteins’ so I do have a bit of an idea about it myself, funnily enough, plus a PG Dip in Dairy Chemistry.

Well it took me about 5 mins thinking to figure that not 20% casein and not 80% whey is the same as 80% casein and 20% whey. I am a bit slow these days.

Thanks guys, now I’m 20% whey and 80% way confused…

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve had a serving of Surge after my last four workouts and my stomach seems to be doing fine. I’m really surprised by it!
