In terms of dietary allergens, whey is quickly on the rise among bodybuilders. If you’re a whey protein junkie, Serrano says to rotate your protein powders on a daily basis as the body develops an allergy to the additives manufacturers add to the protein.
what if i have only one protein I consume? should i just take some days off? what happens when the body develops an allergy?
Who’s to say that most manufacturers are not adding the same additives? If this is the case, the whole rotating protein powder theory goes out the window.
Over the past several years, I was consuming alot of protein powders, in addition to food and liquids. But my recently developed food intolerance is to gluten and casein. Yet, whey, the cheaper and more widely used protein supplement, is perfectly safe for me (assuming it’s free of trace casein and wheat contamination).
How does that jive with the proposed theory?
I can’t believe I finally found someone else who suffered from protein shake allergies. I used Myoplex for the last 10 years and just recently would feel like crap 2 hours after I drank one. I switched to Lean Body and feel fine. I believe that the quantity of casein has something to do with. My symptom was severe congestion that lasted about an hour and then I would be ok. Can you guys describe your symptoms?

LOL, you’re really on a roll today huh?
If this were any different from any other allergy there would be numerous posts around here from guys reporting it. There is a hint here and there, but whey is being consumed in enormous quantities all over and this would’ve shown up by now.
