I do not think the professor is the only ( T ) member that writes in a way that he would not speak. I think we all could be more polite. But if you dish it out you should be able to take it. I have lost count of the times I hear people calling each other derogatory names. If everyone showed that level of civility in public there would be duels as in the days of old. I think many people have big balls when they don?t have to face

You can’t assume someone doesn’t speak the same way in ‘real’ life on a particular topic.

Someone might not speak in a direct way regarding their work to work colleagues, but on a particular topic there’s nothing wrong with ‘cutting the long winded crap and getting to the point’.

I agree people on internet forums could be more polite. It’s easier to fire off expletives rather than be tactful which requires more skill with words.

But at the same time, some people deserve a wake-up call if they’re too lazy to use the search button to find the info, or spend more time in asking a question than searching around the place. Those people usually rock up here looking like a steaming terd (shit) and expect all the answers served to them on a platter.

I can’t imagine turning up to an athletic forum, posting a 0-100m dash time of 23 seconds flat, and expect people to say I’ve got a chance at making the olympics. I’d expect a kick in the ass to work harder.

Who cares who he is? Who cares if he really is 15 years old and in a wheel chair or if he is the person in his photos. The bottom line is when he makes a post he puts thought into it. Either through research or experience. Its up to the reader to determine if its valid for him or her or not. I cant care less if he has a GED or a PhD. Those two have never indicated intelligence (intelligence is MUCH different than being “smart”).

I agree with Vroom. You did start a stalking post on X on the previous thread. And then started a “woe as me”, “everybody is picking on me”, and “I’m still an emotional mess” post on this thread.
