Professor X - Who Is He?

Whenever I get bored, I find a post of his and click on his name and go to find all posts and start reading them. I really like the way he thinks. Plus, they’re usually pretty funny/

Actually I’m going to unravel the mystery! Professor X made a post once about how and why he posts so much…
It went something like this…

“I have breaks in between patients while my assistant preps the room. It’s in that time that I make my posts. And since I can type something (it was a longish post) like this in 2 minutes it doesn’t take me very long to compose something.”
Someone’s been oogying…

Who cares?! While his posts may be well thought out that doesn’t make him the guru some of you think he is. This is the internet. He could be an articulate 110lbs English teacher or librarian. Why is he on this board so much? Doesn’t he ever train or have life outside the computer? Think about it, what does you neighborhood computer geek look like?

Let’s just give him the benefit of the doubt though. Let’s say all his stats and creds are true. I still don’t see why he insists on berating people. You can teach without condescending and correct without disciplining. Why does he feel the need to make others feel bad? To make himself feel better?

There was a different post that metioned all the bad mouthing and insulting going on. Disc Hoss mentioned something about it too. P.X. is the prime example of what they were talking about.

He’s just a guy with a lot of time on his hands using it to regurgitate the information that can be found on this site in a spiteful and condescending way.

Ya, sure…

Also: anyone that states Professor X is “hard” all the time is ignorant and really doesn’t get the jist of his posts.

He gives credit when credit is due. Also while many of his posts are embedded in sarcasm i haven’t ever seen him deny constructive criticism or advice when asked.

Nor does the man ever flaunt what he knows. He doesn’t feel he needs to present his credentials; his written word is often strong enough.

And how long have you two been dating?
Yeah, I guess we all forgot that only the uncool kids on the Internet actually give people credit where credit is due. The super cool ones like you sit in the cheap seats sniping at other people’s opinions but never add anything on their own.

Granted, he hasn’t given us great and insightful feedback like…

Here’s what
“distinguishes”
him from others. I have learned something from his post. Unlike your
“extra critical”
post.

He berates only a select few people like you, as do I, because you are still on this board and won’t leave.

You sound like a spiteful, jealous little bitch that had his ass handed to him in a previous thread.
LOL, so true.

Some people really don’t get what the Professor is saying in his posts.

I don’t agree with all of his posts (like the posts about not going outside dragging sleds unless you’re training specifically for them etc.), but I do agree with most of them.

I happen to like the way he expresses his opinion, and I haven’t seen a post of his yet where he deliberately berates someone without reason.

Many of us spend too much time on T-Nation.

Just ask my wife.

What’s with the not so subtle hack and slash on the Prof?

Grow the fuck up.

Well I prefer to refer to him as X as anything else is a complete disservice to all those who legitimally obtained theit PhD’s.

What’s the matter Poom - think he can dish it out but can’t take it in return?

and in reference to " growing up" - why don’t you give it a try Poom and let us know how you do.
How do you know he doesn’t have a Phd? What if he has a Sc.D. or an MD, JD or DDS? Does that make him any less deserving then a PhD? Do you know for a fact he doesn’t have one of those degrees?

I don’t want to jump on the “Prof X bandwagon” but that remark just sounded too smug for my liking.

C’Mon, everyone; it’s obvious!

“Big Jeff” is a pseudonym! The Prof wanted to find out what we really thought of him (because, you know, he usually never inspires much feedback), so he got himself an avatar that is the reverse of his, made a new profile, and started this controvery-sparking thread! But he made ONE little mistake: listing his actual height in the profile! (5’11")

Hah! I figured it out!

Amazing, isn’t it, how much time we can spend talking about other people we don’t know? What a species. I kind of hope the Prof keeps to the “high road” and doesn’t bother posting here. It’s far more interesting to see yourself through the lens of others’ perceptions.

Carry on.

How NOT to Avoid Professor X:

 1. “What is my bodyfat percentage?”
 2. “I weight 120 but squat 200. Do I have good relative strength?”
 3. “Bodybuilders aren’t functional / weak.”
 4. “Bruce Lee was the greatest bodybuilder/functional guy/fighter/strongman of all time.”
 5. “I eat three meals a day. Why am I not gaining muscle?”
 6. “Dis gurl at my skool sez I wuld be hot if I had a six pak. I weigh 150, wut do I do?”
 7. Anything involving the phrase “This guy at the gym told me…is that true?”
 8. “I don’t like to feel full.”
 9. “I’m a hardgainer.”

Last way to definitely NOT avoid Professor X’s input is:

 1. “Should I cut?” (The answer will be ‘No’ 99% of the time)

You are one odd, odd, man.

Yeah, but ‘does he compete’ ?
Fuck, when I take my car to the VW/Audi garage I’ll be damn sure to check the mechanic doing the service has raced in the German Touring Car championship, otherwise that sucker is sure to be fuck it up.

He’s just another naturally gifted big guy that doesn’t have to do much to get big and thinks that gives him some special knowlege to tell other naturally hard gainers how to get big. They’ve existed long before the internet has.

I’m guessing Big Jeff is actually the professor creating a thread to see what everyone’s opinion on him is.

I’ll start off by saying that the prof isn’t regurgitating anything. You can conspircy theory it if you want, but i’ve made posts before answering questions that required 4000 level Biology classes. Unless he’s professor google then he didn’t regurgitate it. Librarian’s and english teachers are very articulate, but most of the time thats all that they know.

As far as why does he insist on berating people. Well, I berate people all the time. Not to be mean, but so that they will catch the point. I find that the point hits harder when people don’t pull punches.

You guys over think this stuff.

I found a picture of the Prof from a few years ago. He is much bigger now.

It’s hard to say, he may be in a wheelchair, or he may be a cyborg with an MD, but I KNOW for sure he types way faster than me.
