IgneLudo, you are a complete f’n tool and have diluted the value of this thread. STFU.

What kind of toolbag has photos like yours in his profile?
Nice comeback, assface. And the mud slinging begins…

Lulz dude.

Prof X…I know your feelings about deadlifts and have stated you’d use good mornings for lower back. How do you feel about romainian deadlifts (specifically for hamstrings/glutes)? Are you more of a ham curl man?

Curious. How come < 90 degrees negative is considered dangerous leg extensions (in this case), but encouraged (by some) for squats (ie OK to go ATG).

Is it a function of the way the quads/knees are being loaded with weight, or are the movements different enough that you can’t compare them in this context?

Good question.

I’ve had a few large and very experienced (over 10 years) guys tell me that ATG squats are worse for the knees.

I’m definitely not an expert, but I would guess that it has something to do with the difference in hamstring recruitment between the 2 lifts. Squats recruit the hamstring to a high degree (which would be stabilizing the knee from both sides), whereas a leg extension doesn’t active the hamstrings to a significant degree, meaning the knee joint is being stressed mainly from only one side.
That is true and the other issue is that when the knee joint is bent beyond 90 degree it opens up and is technically less stable in that position. In the open position the femur head is along side the tib/fib heads instead of resting on top of it (which is naturally more stable).

However, I don’t think that beyond 90 degrees for squats has been shown to produce more injuries in normal knee joints. I just personally don’t like it because it changes the focus of the movement from quads to glues and brings in the tendon stretch reflex that is not helpful if you are bodybuilding.

I’ll leave it up to you to discover the second thread about his training (the only other that I know of, anyway).

Whatever happened to using the search function?

If you guys would just press the search button and get a lil’ creative,
constant re-answering of questions such as: “How do I get big?” and constant re-flaming of guys stating “I wanna look ript and huuuge like brad pitt” would not be necessary.

That way, Prof and Co would burn less calories typing the same stuff over and over and would now all sit at 270 pounds of LBM.

A lucid interval will cleaaan this place upp

im drunk as im typing this. ok buzzed. but that forum topic is about his CURRENT training, not his beginning. yippee kai ayyyyyyyyyyyy!!!

Perhaps you should cut out the alcohol then, it’s helping neither your training nor your intelligence.

He made several posts about his early years, but if you can’t find those by yourself, then maybe you should take up a hobby that requires less common sense than lifting…
