Yes, grains are a fruit. Fruit is nothing but the reproductive part of a plant. A grain is a fruit.

So are beans and cucumbers and tomatoes, corn, and yes, even professor x’s rice is a fruit. I know this may be mind blowing.

As a general rule fruits are a good source of nutrients for health and wellness. But I cannot understand why people only think that applies to the sweet ones. A fruit doesn’t have to be sweet to have the good fruit stuff in it. Why does the fruit of an apple tree count and not the fruit of a grass plant?
probably because we (we being humans) have eaten apple type fruit for millions of years and grass/grains for 100s of years.

You put peanut butter on steak? I’m not sure I’m okay with that actually.
I either eat the PB by itself or put it on the broccoli, but nobody responded quick enough so I said F it and ate 3 pints of Ben and Jerry’s instead.

Next meal is coming up fast and I’m thinking ground turkey w/taco seasoning, a little bit of potato w/apple cider vinegar and Old Bay seasoning and some fish oil caps… come on guys I need your approval quick!

As long as it was low fat you’ll be fine.

So does Ben know about Jerry?

I realize needing as many calories as you do, consuming tons of veggies would be difficult.
I can’t speak for X, but there are times when I have gone months eating nothing but basically meat. Everyone’s body/system is different, but people would be surprised by the things that we have been told we “need” that we really don’t.
If it means anything, I am like LWH. I can live on beef/pork/milk/eggs, and have zero problems.

I do eat some plants though.

It’s likely some genetic thing, most other men in my family ( Brother, Dad, close relations ) can do, and have done the same.

We don’t have heart problems.

No plants in sight but what is in my yard.

Let’s every one ignore this earlier post by myself where I subtextually say the same things as rasturai, and gregorn…

Why do you guys think I would disagree with what you two typed, just because I said that an older trainee, whom lives largely on Animal Foods, INDICATES something?

Do you guys think I was suggesting that what BW’s diet indicates is universal?

How did you get that?

Ancient Egyptians ate bread so change that to thousands.

mmmm beer

Should we then only eat fruit native to Africa?

DUDE!

I put vinegar on everything. It is good stuff, and if I’m craving it, I’ll just do a shot of it.

YOu know what else is good on steak? Ranch dressing.
Scott M wrote:

“Bay Potatoes” (or “Bay 'taters”).

Grew up on that stuff, man. Especially with blue-claws cooked Philly-style in garlic, pepper/spices, and beer.

You know, up until just a few years ago, I couldn’t get “Old Bay” (brand) seasoning up here? I had to pick up tins of it when I went to Jersey/PA/MD… I put that stuff on just about everything-- fish, potatoes, steak, corn, eggs, etc.

Herr’s makes an “Old Bay” flavor potato chip. They’re OK to eat, because they’re, you know, a vegetable…

So your saying you don’t agree? lol

I just had a large steak, egg and cheese sub with onions peppers and mayo, and two hard boiled eggs. With a diet coke.

I think it;s just a matter of the FDA/Mainstream Media, and what people have been fed since they were younger. Once you get to the point of actually understanding the effect that different food and nutrients have INSIDE your body (hormone levels etc), things shift into a much clearer picture. I’ve seen so many people drain the oil off of their natural peanut butter, thinking that they were being smart -lol.

That’s what I was trying to get at by saying we are told we “need” a lot of things that don’t necessarily hold true.

Just a quick scan of this thread shows you, me and X are probably more developed than the guys arguing that we are wrong, yet they continue to wonder why they don’t progress.

I am beginning to remember exactly what prompted me to go on a hiatus from posting on this site.

Edit: And I commend X and Stu for being on here so long and being able to put up with the know-it-all “sheeple” that pop up in just about every thread where someone who has made more progress and has more experience tries to give a little insight.
The reason most people are not as big as you has no relation with the amount of fruits and vegetables they eat. It simply relies on caloric intake and genetic predisposition. And what has the FDA got to do with anything, according to your position they are tricking us into eating apples and bananas.

What you may not realize is that with the amount of food you are eating, you are most probably covering all essential micronutrients. Trumping the need for fruits and vegetables, except maybe fibers.

Because the fruit of an apple tree is fairly non-poisonous (traces of cyanide), whereas the fruit of some grasses (grass peas eaten by certain tribes) contains neurotoxins that build up in your system eventually leading to complete paralysis?

This knowledge bomb has been brought to you by the letter X.

One of the few intelligent and relevent questions in this clusterfuck of a thread. I would also like to know the answer…?

Also Prof, did you ever have large quantities of milk in your diet at any time when mass gaining? Not saying you need it, just curious.,

Is ketchup considered a vegetable?

If so then I’m good to go for the day.

It’s my desperate hope to remind me of Boardwalk french fries which are covered in those things. Vinegar really does add a nice zing to otherwise bland baked potatoes. This is blasphemy being from MD but I’m not a big crab fan, takes an hour to eat a decent amount of meat.

You guys putting all that crap(ranch dressing?) on your steak shame on you. I typically stick with a thin coat of olive oil to help with the grill marks, cracked sea salt, a little minced garlic and that’s about it.

Anyways I’m going with steak broccoli and natural peanut butter again soon, I hope I’m not missing any phytonutrients.
