Hey. I am on 20mg eod and my labs are great and i feel good but i am experiencing pretty bad hair loss/ hair shedding. Like 20 or more hairs in sink fall out every day. Not from the roots but as if they were cut near the root and it scares me everytime i see them collected in sink. Makes me wanna stop trt. But im sure there is something i can take otc or prescription to stop this from happening. Trying to stay away from the dutasteride pills due to possible severe side effects. So what i need is something that will grow some hair back and also stop the hair from further shedding.

When my estrogen is elevated I lose hair. Lowering your hormones to save your hair while your health is affected makes no sense, every cell in your body is affected by testosterone, even your personality.
Your hair is also growing faster, so you are losing hair because it’s growing faster.
How are you so sure my hair is shedding due to it growing faster and not because im actually losing it?
Empower is a compounding pharmacy? I am im canada so not sure i can use that place. Do you know of any canadian sources? Im assuming finasteride can only be made into a topical scalp lotion by a compounding pharmacy? I guess if i were to take the dutasteride capsules i have and Open them and mix the powder into plain body massage oil or some kind of oil, and then use that to massage into my scalp every night before bed. Would that work? Lol homebrew hair lotion.
Nizoral Shampoo, 2% Ketocozonole. You’ll find this in the shampoo section of Shopper’s Drug Mart, completely over the counter. Make sure you get the 2% concentration, as the 1% packaging is very similar. The active ingredient in Nizoral prevents DHT from acting on the hair follicle. I use it 3x per week, leaving it on for 5-7 minutes at a time, and can tell you that it works very well. My understanding is that it’s only effective for the top of your head and won’t do much for the front. It’s also more of a preventative and I don’t know what (if anything) it will do for regrowth. Give it a try though, it’s like 15 bucks a bottle and lasts for a very long time.
