Well my 2 cents are that if you are building too much muscle…kinda simple…cut down the protein. Without it you will not put on additional muscle. Keep the Protein intake around 1/2 gram per pound, and that should prevent additional muscle growth. As far as a keto diet killing you in training…guess what…IT WILL! I use it all the time to cut some flab off when it gets too carried away and the first two weeks are a living hell…but…if you want it bad enough, you will suck it up, and deal with it…I am not going to say for a second that it is easy…but I can tell you that it can be done…I have done it, and I am a martial artist who does workouts similar to Coach Davies 3 to 4 times per week, along with sparring. Do you feel like you have no energy…yep. Do you feel like you want to die…yep. Do you feel “fuzzy”…yep…BUT if you want it bad enough…then it is a matter of will…do you have what it takes to make your goal a reality?? Good luck bro!
I should not have responded again but I have no problem with someone disagreeing me - I would just would rather no donate my time when someone insinuates a hidden agenda. The individual had a problem, that yes is ironic to say the least but I thought “the forum” would assist him in ways that I am unable to. As far as trying to profit from the forum, I think I have proven that I enjoy speaking with all on the forum. I hope you understand. As always, I remain in Faith, Coach Davies
This thread was started to get nutritional advice from helpful people here on the forum. I am a teenager who trains hard and eats a lot better than most my age so it’s not hard to believe that I could gain muscle and lose fat simultaneously. Coach Davies did not put me up to this to promote himself but if he did I would gladly give testimony to the results I’ve had with this form of training. I’m in MUCH better shaper overall than when I was a HITer.(this is just MY case, I mean no offense to anyone who has had success with or who is a proponent of HIT) Coach Davies is a very helpful trainer who takes time to see to the needs of his athletes so I would appreciate it if you would stop with your foolish inferences.
Obviously the point of your last post was to suggest that Coach Davies had posted under an assumed name, boast about how successful his coaching techniques are, and swindle us all into signing up to his courses. Now, the one question I have for you is…SO WHAT? Even if your X-Files conspiracy-theory lovin’ ass was RIGHT, the Coach has still spent a lot of time helping people on this forum for free, me included. Every time you join in a thread, you seem hell-bent on slagging off any and all of the experts (Tate,Simmons,Davies et al), and all THAT seems to do is to piss people off.
I eagerly await your well-considered reply.
As always, pizza.
I sort of see where heytey is coming from. I think everyone needs to take a step back and realize that it’s okay to disagree. There has been valuable info presented by Coach, although 1 thing has bothered me. From when Coach first started posting here. His threads have produced a cult like reaction among T-Mag posters. It is as though to disagree with the coach is akin to heresy where other “Renegades” then flame that person.
Hetyey
I am sorry that you are jaded by strength coaches. Coach Davies has not asked for anything from anyone. He does not advertise his programs. He has his own supplement line also but did he ever mention that?(Sorry John). He doesn’t even have his own website to advertise his products. He has a phone number and an email address. He makes his living selling his programs, with that you are correct. But he sure gives away an awful lot for nothing. It’s not like he is writing about something you can get somewhere else either. This is material that he has created and worked on for over 15 years. It is unique work that produces results. Not some crap where there is some info, lots of pictures and a high price. Or worse yet, people who pass misinformation around forums. It is a shame that some people, like yourself, scare away people who truly try to help because they like to.
people, let me ask you one question (and please keep your egos in check) this GREAT strength coach asks his “pupil” to post a question because with ALL the world class athletes he has worked with he needs a bunch of people he has never met to help him train HIS athlete?? someone tell me what boxers, football players, baseball players, ect… he has worked with. if you can not handle what some putz on a forum has to say then how can you teach mental toughness? just a thought. and rader, I have NOT slammed these people, I got accused of it BEFORE I did, Tate I have never said anything bad about, I dissagree about forceing the abdomen out, so what, that is all I have ever said, louie well I do have a prob. w/hypocrites he says all machines are bad, untill HE SELLS THEM, then they are the best thing since sliced bread. anyway, peace to ALL ![]()
First of all “hetyey225”, you should learn a little respect. You have launched tirade after tirade on anyone you can, whether it be JB or Louie Simmons or myself. He doesnt need me defending him, but you should heed some respect for this country’s greatest strength coach, Louie. You have no idea what he has done for the science of strength conditioning in this nation. Returning to the original post - I thought this young man would enjoy the friendly interaction of fellow T-mag readers. I apologize to him because this is the farthest thing I would have wanted a young man exposed to. If you wish to check my resume, feel free - I hope you enjoy your time contacting NFL / NCAA coaches and professional athletes. I don’t flaunt clients because I don’t think my training should be based on that type of marketing.
As an aside, your lack of inside knowledge is somewhat laughable when you would throw out athletes names offering testimonials of training systems. You do understand - endorsements, don’t you. From most peoples opinions, I have made errors in not marketing who I have worked with and splashing web-pages of pictures. Without question, I could have financially profited much greater by changing my style and making use of those photo ops. I have allowed my career to be based upon results, not marketing and stayed within a quiet network. With regards to mental toughness, you are extremly right - I shouldn’t let a “putz on a forum” (as you referred to yourself) be annoying. But if so desired, I will continue to contribute to the forum, because helping and mentoring is what my career stands for (understand FAITH).
I have no problem if you do not agree with me -you are certainly entitled to your opinion and you certainly research your information. Good luck “hetyey225”, you have managed to turn a enjoyable free forum into your personal message of hate and bitterness. As always, Have a blessed day & I remain in faith, Coach Davies
I wanted to answer the question “in my opinion and experience”, sorry cant play in the litter box of hate and envy.
I started to desire to cease gaining muscular weight, and did so by dietary cut backs, but I also increased the % of 1 rep max that I did and limited the volume. Frequency I was able to kick up a lot. I have enjoyed marvelous results, people commenting that I actually looked bigger.
I am glad to hear of your success. I may have to read more on the good coaches methods.
'bout time.
I just wanted to say that I personally value Coach Davies contributions to the forum. I would really like to see him continue offering advice. I have just started incorporating some of his ideas into my own training and feel like it is making a difference. I often don’t agree with all of the information that I read here (i’m sure when I post advice that there are people who disagree with me), but I do take what I can from the info. posted. Some of the postings have influenced my training a great deal (I’m doing more functional training, I just ordered a kettlebell, I ordered Pavel’s stretching book), and others I have just ignored. I have no interest in telling others how to think…I won’t try to convince a person who trains HIT style to do explosive lifts or use a periodized approach to training…do what’s best for you. As far as marketing is concerned, I think that Davies programs are selling themselves. I understand that he sells a program on another website but I doubt many people have bought it yet…I may buy it after I start the renegade program that he has been posting for FREE…but only if it works well for me. I’m sure the same holds true for others as well.
BUT, what if Nate Dogg, Kelly Baggett, FFB, Kali, Lance, Mitchell, Chris Kelly, Buster, Robusto, Greg, Mike M, Doug Santillo and others who have been incorporating Coach Davies ideas into their workouts are all just made up names who Coach Davies has been posting under for months to draw us all in?
I very much believe in conspiracy, but time will tell on this one. Like I said, if the workouts produce results…people will demand the info.
also, if anyone would like to join Supertraing egroup at yahoo, feel free to, i know Coach D just did. Heytey, i would like you to go join and post there, if you want a real education.
