Hello everyone, I am having some issues with my humalog that I cant’f find any explanation for. I have an insulin pen that I just started using, I’m only using 1IU at a time. I have a BG monitor and all that. I never go low… but for some reason I feel like shit all the time. This is my second attempt with the pen, last time I tried a few IUs after my workouts the same thing happened. I will wake up feeling like crap, head is all hazy, photosensitivty high, body weak.
This time, it’s been a little over a year, I stopped using gear during that time because I was a bit young (18ish), I’ve probably gained around 10lbs of solid mass (like 190lbs/a bit of abs/5 "7). Im running some test, drol, and GH, and thought I would give the pen another go. So today I had an IU in the morning, BG went to 80, few minutes later it was 70, so I had 20g of dextrose and some whey, followed by 2 sugary oatmeal packets. I had some more dextrose and whey with some fruit 1-2 hours later when my BG was 80, then went to a buffet.
I can already feel the sluggishness going on, my body feels like a bag of bricks, and my head/vision is “fuzzy”.
Has anyone experience something like this or heard of a similar case?
All I can think of is : 1. Too young/robust insulin sensitivity 2. Not enough mass 3. Somem kind of undiagnosed sugar disorder

Those are all signs of hypoglycemia. But bear with me.
If you are going to be the guy that uses slin, then eat 30 minutes later and I’d also eat an hour later. How many carbohydrates do you need? And why the times I gave you? Well normally you need to eat 10 grams of carbohydrates for every unit of slin. But to be on the safeside, iI’d take 4x as many carbohydrates. Also humalog peaks at one hour, and is mostly out of you by 1.5 hours. If you exercise for 3-4 hours after you shoot up, then the insulin works 3 times as effectively, making one unit potentially acting like 2 or three units. Also, the fact that your blood sugar feels low when it says 80 is a good thing, that isn’t that low, and your body is being really conservative and tellung you to eat.
thanks for the info. I pretty much follow that protocol to a T eating about 500 carbs a day. I’ll see how I feel using the slin for a few more days. If my body can’t tolerate it, I guess it just won’t and I’ll scrap it.

Wow never heard of that happening. Then again I’m the only one I know who’s used slin before. I started at 2iu’s and worked my way up to 8iu’s. Never got runs or anything. In my own opinion seeing as how I’m always VERY carful try it for a couple more days but I’d stop all together on this one.
Ok, so after a few days of use, I am having no problems with the insulin. Ill be adding a few IUs post workout or pre on top of the shot in the morning. I have a theory (I gave it some thought because this drove me out of my mind last time I tried to use it)
Basically, in the past, I constantly would be going way up in calories and then way down without giving my body time to adapt (had a stressful/emotional year and I’m prone to stuffing my face when things don’t go my way. Last year, I jumped into a bulking cycle from being VERY dieted down. I read that it’s actually a useful way to make gains (‘priming’ theory).
I feel like being dieted down/depleted was making my body unable to tolerate the slin. Any thoughts?
I know some people say that they use insulin in the morning even when they’re cutting, but this was NOT a gradual cut I was coming off- I was like 1200 calories under expenditure on some days.
Now I keep my calories between 3 and 4 thousand pretty much no matter what- makes a big difference
Keep in mind slin will expedite nutrients through your system. It works well, but you have to have food in your system or, go hypo. 80 my be hypo for you. I’ve seen people that walk around at 400 and do not feel hyper and some at 60 and don’t feel hypo. 80-120 is a standard range and you must be aware of it, but your body will tell you what you can tolerate. Eat clean after dosing and you’ll do fine.
