ok. here we go. im gonna try and post how this goes for the benefit of all. today i started the slin. ive been doing the halodrol for 2 weeks with excellent results. as of this writting i am 5’7 218 with 17% BF. i took my shot of slin (humulin r) PWO, 6 iu followed by a mixture of creatine aminos protien and 75 grams of dextrose.
I have some ice cold moutain dew standing by with another protien shake if i start feeling hypo and in a couple hours ill be putting away some rice and chicken breast. any help through this will be appreciated. stay strong fellas
what would be a safe time to go to sleep after my shot? i took it at 8 i figured 3 -4 hours is good
Maybe with humalog, I don’t think I would be comfortable going to bed for at least 6 hours after I shot humalin especially being new to it.
But I might just be a puss.
bushy, i just sent you a pm right before i read what you posted… im thinking the same way you are. especially after how i had little effect after my fist shot. should i change protocol or simply call off the slin and try the metformin?
Did you feel tired or kinda hazy in your head at all after injecting? I would think your first time using you should feel something. You should probably use Metformin or ALA and just stick to dextrose pwo for your natural insulin spike. One protocol that could be used for someone with less sensitivity is, you could take ALA and Vanadium 20min before end of workout, inject 10iu humalog intramuscular, take creatine, protein, aminos but wait 15min to take carbs and you will blunt your own insulin response somewhat but still get the hard hit from the shot and possibly protect from already compromised insulin sensitivity. DO NOT DO THIS UNLESS YOU ARE VERY EXPERIENCED AND SURE OF HOW YOUR BODY RESPONDS! INSULIN CAN KILL YOU!
humalin r is active for around 13 hours and doesnt PEAK until around 3 and a half - 4 hours. since you’re starting off i wouldnt sleep until 5 - 6 hours after your shot. i would shoot subq for now as intramuscular is more dangerous and is for more advanced users.
dextrose is fine pwo. ppwo meal seems fine.
humalin is not suitable for bodybuilding purposes, I know they all sound kinda the same but the difference could kill you. I used humalog and was able to nap after 3 hours of eating with no ill effects. I would encourage insulin use to be the morning after intense workouts or in the evening if the workout took place AM. PWO just follow your normal PWO supplementation. But since you have the wrong kind of insulin I would encourage you to follow Bushy’s advise and use the metformin.
Still post your results as it pertains to body comp changes.
ok. i know it hasnt been long…3 days? anyways, i thought i would make a little report. body weight has actually gone down! i dont know what it is but i have lost .5 lbs. its probably a fluke, 3 days isnt very long. recovery is noticibly better, even more so than the drol alone. thats it for now.
oh yeah, my abs look alot better than they have in a long time. and i got my body fat done. 13%. i was guessing when i said 18. thats a pleasent suprise. i always see a fat pig when i look in the mirror though… :0)
i took the shot today in the morning. thats made a huge diffrence. i couldnt shake the sleepiness for good hour. i had plenty of carbs and protien. nothing crazy just a general sluggishness. and a really good pump actually. why is it that you say no humulin r bushy? ive read of a ton of guys who say they love it… i value your opinion though. why not?
Yeah the drowsiness and sluggishness has been a lot stronger for me than I expected. Have you experimented with different carb combinations/ food combinations? I am going to try out a couple different things in the next week and see how I feel post injection.

Not attempting to answer for Bushy by any means and I’m sure he can and will hit this topic with much greater detail than I.
When using exogenous insulin you want the fastest acting insulin possible. That way it kicks in fast and is cleared from the body fast. It will lower your chances of going hypo if the insulin leaves quickly after taking effect. For bodybuilding purposes novalog and humalog are a good fit. Humalin is better left for the diabetics.
