Problem Developing My Abs

hey my fellow delinquents (spelled right? fck it)

my abs development is troubling me a bit, my chest hangs off my ribcage as normal, the middle of my torso is tucked in normally, but my lower abs portrude a little bit… if i flex its a little hard like muscle but i just find it weird, so whats up?

Can be fat underneath the abs. Do you eat or have you eaten a lot of trans fat? I remember reading that a lot of power lifters who appear to have abs on top of a gut is because they have a lot of fat underneath the abs due to high trans/sat fat diets. It was a while ago when I read that article and I think it was on here, I’d have to search. Also the lower ab fat is usally the last to go, so go figure eh? lol

Gerdy

haha yeah well i never eat trans fats i know all about em, but im a skinny bastard so i eat alot of saturated fats naturally occuring in beef and all but still alot, i had no idea sat fats can do that, trans yeah …

Sat fats usually don’t. Trans fat do horrible things to a physique. But if you already stay away from them then no worries. It’s probably just the last part of your diet then. Males typically gain and store fat in the glutes and lower abdominals first, then it spreads to the rest.

What do you mean by protrude?

I feel like this is my answer to everything lately, but it could be an anterior pelvic tilt.

I believe Mike Robertson’s Hips Don’t Lie article states that someone lean could look like they’re holding fat in that area due to anterior pelvic tilt.

Search the article and check for yourself. Not feeling up to it right now sorry

Is there a specific quantity of trans fats we’re talking about here? What I’m asking is, is there a limit under which trans fat intake is negligible?

Every article I’ve ever read on it states that as little Trans Fat as possible is best. I’ve never researched what a specific quantity or a “daily recommended amount” because I’ve always been told an “avoid at all costs thing”. A little won’t hurt you but I don’t think it will help at all except adding extra calories in a bulk diet. I’d still rather get my fat calories form another source. My two cents…

Gerdy

Well I don’t know of the specific number. But there is going to be a range where it doesn’t mean anything. Eating one gram of trans fat every three weeks isnt helpful but it sure won’t lay waist to your physique. Its probably steady relationship, the more trans fat you eat the worse it is. Very little is probably negligible. I shall draw you a graph

and honestly whats the purpose or need for trans fat? if your serious about being good at looking good you shouldnt be eating any foods that contain trans fats anyway

I was really only concerned because I eat a fair few kangaroo steaks, which indicate a minute amount of trans fats on the label. Now that I think about it, it’s probably got more to do with complying with labelling standards than anything else.

Naturally occurring trans fats aren’t the problem. CLA is a trans fat. The harmful stuff is created by doing unnatural shit to oil.

Anyway, definitely sounds like it could be anterior pelvic tilt. I would look into that if I were you.

Yeah I think you’re right about the labels. If its listed as <1g then its a pretty safe bet that it is just to cover their asses.

How awesome is it that we eat our national emblem.

Ronald I swore I’d stay away from you! lol just kiddin man I had to.

Well I’m not saying that if you eat a little trans fat every now and then that you will become a huge blob of fat. lol Its just that it doesn’t help you at all. Most pizza is loaded with saturated fat from cheese and carbs from the dough. So you really aren’t getting a lot of trans fat there. I believe. I down a pizza now and then but only during monday night football. lol Other than that I stay away for the most part and follow my diet that I outline for myself.

Gerdy

could be genetics, could be your bf is higher than it should be, could be neither, or both…
or maybe its just how jersey people role because i got one of them shits too.

I was not aware of that.

Pretty awesome. They’re plentiful, nutritious, cheap and tasty; what more could you ask for?

Jeezus what the fuck is happening to this site?

If you want abs, partake of the right diet for more than 6wks.

If you want to bulk, kiss your abs goodbye for more than 6 wks.

Does it ever have to be more complicated that that?

Sxio is so right.

For a skinny young guy, trans fats are simply the cheapest, most abundant energy source which can, on top of that, help raise his hormone levels (especially test) for better performance.

Since you’re skinny… you probably need to increase your food intake.
