Since Ive been following sports rehab & training for the last 15 years. It certainly seems that they have done very little to move a head with sports science.
EX) Everytime I watch an athlete pull a hamstring or get a swollen knee. There is the same lame old boxer type trainer that greats them examines there knee, sticks them on a bike then stretches there hamstring statically for as long as possible. (PS im pissed watching Tomlinson on the side line)!!!
Anyone around here that knows anything (especially POLIQUINS CAMP) will realize that stretching the body will relax the nervous system make the body more prone to injury . IF the stretch they should be stretching the oppossing muslces anyway. )PNF that is).
WHy dont teams catch up with current sports rehab? Invest more money. Sure teams have a sports rackem and crack em chiropractor.
WHat I would have available to a team during the playoffs.
Tomlinson goes down, Immediately greeted by a deep tissue, ART guy to release scar tissue, for me the magic bullet is always acupuncture. The should do deep needle releases especially on the IT band and bring down swelling. THis combination would do wonders! more than the old himstring strech over the head and sit on a bike!
