Come on guys- if Gore or Nadar win they will slap on more laws that will prevent economic and personal liberity. Just look at the current oil situation. There hasen’t been a refinery built in the USA in 30 Years. We have several oil feilds just waiting to be tapped- but thanks to the extreme enviromentalist we won’t tap them- so we are being held economic hostage to OPEC. If Nadar or Gore are elected do you think anything is going be done to reduce our dependance on foreign oil? They won’t. If gore or Nadar win do you think any tort reform will occur? They will do anything to hurt corporate america. I don’t know who out there takes supplements but if any of those guys get elected we will be old men before any new supplements or drugs come on the market. Give Nadar his way and we will be vacationing in Mexico to get our creatine because it has not been proven to be safe.
If you want to maximize personal freedom you will vote for Bush. I like the libertarian party but they don’t have a chance. Politics is the art of compromise. Look at the total of what the canadiates want to do- examine your core belifs then vote accordingly.
Bush AND Gore are corporate America! Do you think that the oil companies want a surge in oil? That would reduce cost and profits. Do you think that Bush or Gore are interested in all of the alternatives to oil? Well there isn’t anywhere near the money to be made. You won’t see any renewable resources groups handing out huge contribution checks or doing any generous lobbying. The FDA is a constant threat to the supplement industry because the supplement industry is a threat to the Pharmaceutical Industry.
Brown and Nader have very strong records for taking on tough issues that are extremely important but not all that popular. Gore and Bush just keep telling the public what they want to hear (or what they think that they want to hear). I picture the current politic state of the U.S. as not being too far off what the the average American physique looks like.
If the canidates where supplements, what supplement would they be?
Actually, Nader isn’t for more legal restrictions on our lives–whoever’s been telling you that is trying to scare you off. Nader’s whole candidacy–the very POINT he’s running for–is to return power and economic/business liberties to the grassroots. It’s the “big guys” in politics who has stolen our liberties in favor of profits and payoffs to the monied interests (see his website for details–read under “the issues”), and Nader is about returning power and political representation to labor, unions, small businesses and farmers, families, and underserved communities. Nader has, in the past, helped enact a lot of restrictions on larger businesses, but they have saved conutless millions of lives as well. His position is that corporations ought to be accountable to law, and we citizens ought to be freer under the law, not vice-versa. Not to mention that his running mate is a personal friend of mine (I lived with her one summer as her apprentice).
First off Gore might just be more of a creep than Clinton. I am still trying to figure out how he has gotten away with all of the illegal campaign fund raising and yet this guy has such low respect for all of us to say he wants campaign finance reform. Look everyone is saying the most important thing is education well look at what Bush has done for Texas. That state absolutely sucked before Bush was govenor and now it is one of the top 12 economies in the WORLD not country WORLD. As well there education system is one of the best in the country. The great economy we are having is driven by the computer industry. This would have happened no matter who was president. Clinton and Gore had absolutely nothing to do with the success of our economy. Nothing they signed into law made any impact on the computer industry. Oh and by the way people lets not elect based on who can B.S. the best. The last time we did that we got Govenor Clinton who’s state had the second worst education system in the country, one of the worst economies, and one of the worst polution problems in the U.S.A. and to think these were his 3 platforms he ran on. What does that say about the intelligence of our society. Bush may not be the best but he is better than Gore. By the way I am a Independent.
I’m voting for Al Gore because health and longevity matter to me more than most other issues, including personal liberty. Al Gore is the only candidate who will double funding on medical research and development. Bush will only issue a permanent tax credit for corporate research (big deal, Gore will do the same and far more), and Browne will cease all government sponsored research (whoppee, there goes 6 billion people down the drain).
I can worry about personal liberty a hundred or so years from now.
Anyone who knows history can hear the death-rattle of Western Civilization. It’s a known historical fact that when a civilization begins to crumble, the queers come out of the closet, and women swarm into politics. None of the mainstream politicians will stop the decline. Hence, I have withdrawn from the voting process, and consider myself a counter-revolutionary. Our system of government has decayed and gone rotten, and we are foolish to think we can vote ourselves out of tyranny and the social anarchy that results. The present decaying system needs to be uprooted like a rotten tooth, and needs to be replaced with something fundamentally different.
unfortunately jason it’s people like you who make it that way. Big shithead politicians don’t want you to vote! Soon enough young people are going to be the ruling majority and there are people out there who WILL change things if elected but they need millions of votes and those dissatisfied millions don’t vote!
Although jason, i just read your post on the FDA and agree with you 100% ( i say the exact same thing) I’m glad someone else sees the way this government is heading. It’s quite obvious that you are not just a lazy disenchanted meathead! All the more reason to VOTE against these cocksmokers
James, when you watch the fireworks next July 4th, keep in mind that if the American patriots simply put their trust in their Parliamentary representatives, instead of watching fireworks, you’d be talking with a funny accent, and would be singing “God Save the Queen.” However, it doesn’t matter whether the abuses are coming from London or Washington, D.C. You can’t vote yourself out of tyranny. The Founding Fathers knew that, that’s why they wrote the second amendment. They did not write it for deer-hunters. Remember that next time you see a representative of the Clinton/Gore government on your TV screen, holding up an AK-47, and slyly saying, “You don’t need one of these to kill a deer.” Remember that the second amendment was written to keep people like the tyrant on your TV screen in check - and they know it. That’s why the second amendment was written, to prevent the assholes in Washington from establishing a dictatorship. If you don’t have the right to keep and bear arms, you have no rights at all.
