Can anyone offer me some ideas on what to take pre-game (legal or not) too get me “in the mood”. I am now playing DIAA football and need to get a little crazy, as I have to prove myself on special teams before I get a shot at starting, thanks Donnie
Legal: Ultimate Orange, Ma Huang or Guarana.
Illegal: Speed…being a football player, you know the saying…“Speed Kills”.
You should only use this stuff to take you over the edge. If you’re really serious about football, you won’t need any of this to get you fired up.
If you need something to get you in the mood for playing football, you need to pick another sport. I’d kill for one more game (maybe for one more play).
if you weren’t drug tested, i have heard of people popping a stenox before an event…
PCP (and tell me if its going to be televised cause thats the only game I’d watch)
If you are looking to be a serious wildman, take a serving and a half of “ultimate punch” and start sipping it a half hour before you go out there, by the game time have it all downed so its not a rush/crash sort of response, and then go rip off some heads
Keep in mind that you can be overstimulated and this will cause you to perform poorly. Read T-mag’s article called “The Land of Giants” and Chad Coy’s take on this topic. Makes a lot of sense. In football, you need to be able to read the D, remember plays, etc. You need to be able to focus and concentrate. I suggest Power Drive and if you need some CNS stim to go along with that, try a caffeine tab or ephedrine (or both, like a tab of MD6.) Pre-game diet and good sleep the night before always helps too.
Stick needles in your balls. It releases adrenaline. If possible do it in front of the opposing team, they’ll think you’re super hardcore. If you really want to appear tough, use safety pins and leave them in for the duration of the game, show the other guys your nuts before each play. It doesn’t hurt as bad as you’d think, it got me throlugh high school ball.
I think Chris is right; a more measured response-good rest, good night’s sleep, etc. What I’d like to know is, is there a ‘down-regulation’ or diminished returns if you use hefty doses all the time? Seems like if a player uses nothing all week, then for the big game drinks a cup of coffee or whatever, he’ll be really up. Also, the Davies premise that ‘up for the game’ is being at a full 100% at the middle of the 4th quarter. Hence, the game is really won months before.

I appreciate your interest in being prepared for the battle. You have spent the last few months/years preparing for this - the feel of tape on your hands and the rugid brutality of collisions are what you wait for. The “mood” is something that lurks within you. It’s mean and nasty, can’t be described easily and not suited for the real world. It is begging to get out and finally on field, it can be unleashed. The game is series of reads and reactions - your perception must be sharp and infinitely precise. Ensure proper recovery will diet, additional supplementation (see Chris’ ideas, they are perfect although I would indulge in higher dosages) and try to sleep. Become the warrior and enter the hunt. Listen to the ex-ballplayers when they ask for one more game - harness every your body has and give it up. I apologize for letting my love of football spill over but I think you will understand. In faith, Coach Davies
