I am going to buy a power rack and thinking about getting the Powertec Power rack. The price seems to be reasonable and there are some nice add ons liek the dip rack and the pullup bar.
I cant take my college gym, with people doing curls in the squat rack and basically people doing curls curls and more curls. And not to mention its fills about 200 people above capacity all the damn time.
Anyway, does anyone have this rack? Have any recommendations for a rack I should get? Where I can get something solid for a cheap price? Or even where I could get about 300lbs or so (including an olympic bar) of weights that are cheap but will last long… Or maybe even if its cheaper to build a rack? Thanks
I’ve never seen that rack, but it looks pretty good.
I have a Body Solid rack. I would rather have the Elite power rack, but it cost more than twice as much. I paid $264 for mine. You can also get it online http://www.fitnessfactory.com/
If you can afford Elite, go with that one. Otherwise, look into Body Solid and Powerline racks.
I got my Keys 300lb Olympic weight set for $115. So look around your local fitness places for a set.
I have that exact same rack. My experience has been very positive with that equipment. I could not find anything better for less money (with the same features, specially both the Chin bar and dipping bars).
I have the PowerTec Rack with the pull down & low pull attachment. I agree that I don’t think there is a better rack for the money. It is made very well and it supports a ton of weight with no problem.
Also, PowerTec has been very helpful too. I highly recommend this rack.
I’m planning on purchasing a power rack myself next year when I’ve finished my degree and have some money. I was looking into Australian suppliers and come across this link http://www.vectorfitness.com.au/free.htm
The price on what looks like a dodgy piece of equipment is AUD$1,140.51 (about US$850), and then look at the goon showing you how to use it. No wonder gym memberships are so damn expensive over here.
Hope I can find a cheaper option or I’m gonna buy an arc welder instead.
