how bout running than? if you run it helps your heart but you can die by running off a bridge. drinking too much water can kill you but we still hydrate ourselves.

I just read a few articles online that disturbed me. Heavy weights is not heart healthy, it can cause organ damage, and heart attacks apparently and the risk is very high.

āA study in the Journal of Cardiology revealed lifting more than half your body weight could put you at risk for sudden death.ā
We must all immediately stop lifting heavy weights and start golfing.

Good thing America is obese. If they were 300lbs, they can safely lift more than if they merely weighed 200lbs.

This is also how John Ritter died while filming a TV show⦠I seem to recall this article being pushed back then as an awareness thing. However, the point stands that it can happen if youāre a lifter or an out of shape, past your prime actor.
" Ashenfelter blames a poor diet, smoking and stress. Yet, the weight lifting, which increases blood pressure, may have played a role."
yeah, thatās the problem. lifting.
fail.
āA study in the Journal of Cardiology revealed lifting more than half your body weight could put you at risk for sudden death. Evidence shows the weight can cause the aorta, the heartās main artery, to tear in some cases.ā
hahaha
wow.
ā:The studyās authors strongly encourage weight training to maintain muscle mass and bone health but note that even push-ups can be lethal to someone with an enlarged aorta.ā
so everyone go get your aorta sized before you even get out of bed tomorrow, you may die.

Fuck that shit. Iād rather be John Pall or Pistol Pete Maravich any day of the week and die doing something I loved with all my heart than be one of those gray tormented souls afraid to get out of the house and live.
I also seem to recall both of those people (with severe heart deformations) lasted quite a while under the stressā¦at least enough to become immortals in their chosen sports. According to the article, neither one of them should have even been doing push-ups.
Although everything that the studies say are absolutely true about arterial walls hardening, blood pressure rising, and even increases in the amount of plaque build-up due to the high levels of oxidative stress caused by heavy lifting, I believe it would be really fucking stupid to not die strong as shit. Fuck these people. I could give a shit less about what some pasty, 130lb cocksucker in a lab coat has to say about anything. You know why he had enough time to do this study? Because he wasnāt trying to get a 1000lb bench press. I bet this is the same asshole who did the study on how lifting weights makes you fatter because it makes you more hungry throughout the day. I wish people like me could eat people like him.

Also, Shawn105, you decide whatās worth with YOUR doctor. Take this article to your doctor and see what he/she says. Then decide whether you want to:
A) Keel over locking out a PR (maraudermeat)
B) Be as strong as you can possibley become
C) Worry about dying
Damn it these people piss me off when they get scared by reading something.
Iāve got diabetes in my family, heart attacks, stroke, and Iām still squatting 225lbs 35 times. If Iām going to die, Iād rather die lifting heavy shit, or bustin a nut in a soaking wet pussy. But if I die soon, I know I bust my ass in the gym with no regrets!
Fuck these people and their fear of dying or being injured from reading a study.
LIFT OR DIE![/quote]
Uhhh, easy tough guy.
225 isnāt heavy. I donāt care if you do it 127 times. Itās still squatinā 225.
Seriously, if you get your panties in a bunch over the original post on this thread you are a bitch made punk ass limp dick squirt.
Lift of die.
Thatās epic.

If maraudermeat were to die pulling a PR deadlift in a full meet, it would be the FIRST full meet he finished before he claimed a boo-boo (read second full meet) and didnāt pull a ātokenā, so you might want to pre screen your internet icons. It would be a shame to see him die in the first full meet he actually had enough sack to complete.

Lift or die, I made that up.
I was making a point, apwsearch.
The point is,āDo not allow studies to place fear within you.ā IF an individual has a question or fear of doing something that is detrimental to his/her self, then see doctor, physician, specialist, etc,.
And please, easy with the insults. Donāt be another one of those forum sissyās that do things behind the screen. I stated my opinion about a study, not about you.
Angular
Pussified
Wimp
Search(for your balls)
Once againā¦LIFT OR DIE!! Fuck a study, do what you choose!

Or heās one of the most useful posters on any subsection of this forum. You tard.
I'm a competitive powerlifter and I have thought about this. More from the stress standpoint, I know people can die from things like stress overuse of the sympathetic nervous system and you do get fired up for lifts anxious about the lifts you need to hit that day, worried if you will miss em etc.
However, stress is reduced when you get a lift and you feel accomplished. You feel good. I would say it is probably healthier than people who do absolutely no exercise.
