Powerlifting or Olympic Lifting Program?

Sorry if this seems like a stupid question to ask but i really need help. I have a squat and deadlift only meet coming up in 5 weeks time and I need to peak for this comp. (Want to break a squat record)

For the past few months ive been following wendlers 5/3/1 but the aim of slow progress doesnt really seem to apeal to me trying to peak.
I was wondering should I stick with it or do something like the Russian squat routine or do some more Olympic style traing because those programmes dont include upper body lifting?

If anyone has any suggestions or templates they would be very appreciated! Thanks guys!

If you want to compete in a powerlifting meet (minus the bench, of course), then it wouldn’t make much sense to train Olympic-style. Which peaking program to use depends on the person.

Also, where in the world did you find a squat and deadlift only meet?? I’d absolutely love to do one of those and say screw it to the bench!

Definitely agree with this!

Anyway OP, there are a fair share of squatting and deadlifting peaking programs on the internet which you should look into. Olympic lifting is not going to be the best choice in order to get better at Powerlifting. However, it is sometimes not advised to Deadlift on Squat peaking programs, but they also say that a better squat means a better deadlift, so if I were you, I would run a squat program like Smolov or something similar.
IMO

Good luck!
