I think what the issue some of these guys might have is that they think your Trolling.
While yes there is a large air of negativity around your post it’s because you didn’t provide adequate information from the get go.
You still haven’t posted a photo, do you have a smart phone that can take pictures? Do an ab check.
You still haven’t exactly laid out your training plan.
You still haven’t given anyone a solid caloric/macro breakdown on your nutrition.
To answer this question specifically:
How do I get my body to stay in single digit body fat while focusing on pure strength?
Increase your activity to meet the energy expenditure requirements to stay at single digit body fat.
Increase your muscle mass so that your body will burn more calories at rest.
Decrease your caloric intake to lose fat.
You said
My average amount of hours doing some sort of physical activity of a decent intensity was around 20 hours a week minimum. With powerlifting this has decreased IMMENSELY, but the intensity of the workouts limits me to around 3-6 hours a week
You answered your own question, you dropped down your energy expenditure as such you were going to gain something.
If adding in the 20 minutes of conditioning has helped, stick with it. You can still increase strength while maintaining your conditioning. You may find you need to adjust things.
As such I’d suggest having someone design your training and nutrition to help you meet you goals until you’ve learned how to hit them on your own.
There has been literally 0 information given so far that anyone can specifically help you with this.
and even in a caloric deficit, but I’ve gained fat around my belly and sides. My skinfolds EVERYWHERE ELSE went down, but my belly and sides have gained.
that comment is why people are being so negative. It’s practically impossible for this to happen.
Well actually I am fairly certain it is because he is an idiot that is causing most of the negative comments, and a general lack of not listening to good advice given in the first 10 responses that easily answered his question.
Powerlifting didn’t make you fat. You made you fat. Stop eating as much. You aren’t burning as many calories powerlifting as you are in “endurance sports” and 6 hour Surfing sessions. It isn’t rocket surgery. Period.
He had another thread where he blamed powerlifting for being unable to satisfy his wife in bed.
Read his other threads and you’ll understand.
@Reed and @chris_ottawa and @bulldog9899 and @Benanything are helpful dudes normally, so if they aren’t being positive there’s a good reason for it.
@MarkKO
I can’t claim to remember reading any of his previous threads. I’ll take your word for it.
@believer423 you’d remember if you had. It’s pretty rare for someone genuinely seeking help to not get it on here. The ones who do get flamed tend to be very contrarian, not listen to advice and not answer questions.

“Powerlifting Is Slowing Me Down” he says
“To be honest, my main concern was my sex life. My wife needs me to move my hips at an unnatural speed for a good long while for her to orgasm during intercourse, and doing it manually just is not the same at all.”
The solution to this is ridiculously simple. If powerlifting isn’t doing it for you, stop powerlifting.
@corstijeir WOW seriously!! The guy in a previous thread is blaming Powerlifting ? I Wasn’t sure about this guy in the first place, probably why I didnt go all A -hole on the guy and tried to remain civil… But damn it seems hes got some sort of a agenda . Honestly to me his whole post seemed a way to imply that 1. Powerlifting will make one fat and 2nd that all power lifters are fat asses .
Seriously, I dont think he wants advice… I think he already has his mind made up and wants verification from others . Probably, in his world if you disagree with him than your a ASS HOLE. ( or at least that how it seems to me).
Holy sh$t I didn’t realize he was the dude from Powerlifting is slowing me down thread.
Which I commented on ( I blame lack of coffee ). I agree Dr, we’re all ass holes and he’s the askhole. lol.
Stuff like that is far more destructive to both sports than it is beneficial. I know you are like 19 years old, but you have a lot of capacity as an ambassador for your sport.
