What is the average weight class for someone who is a little under 5’10"? Just curious as that is my height although I don’t plan on going above 181 any time in the near future.
My last meet (which was also my first) I competed in the 165 class although I weighed in way light at 154. Pulled 420 though (35lbs pr) :).[/quote]
I weighed in a 219 my last meet (weighed in the morning of meet). I’m 5’9"…
I’m pretty tall for a 220 pounder…at my height I really need to be at least 250 to be strong…
also…I pulled 415 lbs for 16 reps at 210 lbs (one more rep than my training partner to win a bet that day, I might have been able to do more but I stopped because I had already won the bet), 505 lbs for 5 reps, 600 lbs in the gym for one, and 585 lbs in a three lift meet…and I’m considered a weak and puny sub-par lifter.
if you want to get strong…start eating!
im 5’9 ive lifted in the 275 and the 308 class but currently i am dieting down to the 242 class…i can do alot better down there and personally i want to lose weight for health reasons…so i hope to be a 242 by spring to compete then…bm
Good luck to you BM. What happened to your training log? It was always interesting to follow and if I remember correctly you injured yourself towards the end of your log. Hope you recovered fast and well.
FWIW, My lifts didn’t start really exploding until I gained some extra weight. I’m currently training at 245-250lbs. at 5’7. Competition weight is 220.
