Too many people have the motto “ No Pain No Pain” it makes for some boring people.
Might consider Crippler’s post^ before each of your workouts.
80 yr old gym friend chants “don’t let the old man in”.
Right before benching 245 for 2 reps.

Bench
Both benches were occupied. The old wrestling coach on one and some texting, flip flop wearing SOB doing an extremely lackadaisical 3 station super set on the other. So I stretched and did some warmup exercises, then did some more and then I started doing warm up exercises that I have only seen other people do. When I did get under the bar it felt good. The guy that got on my nerves did come over at one point and helped load the bar.

Ah yes, nothing like flip flops in the gym, pterodactyl like toe nails, bunions with a punctuate cheesy tang. Lovely lol.
Nice benching though ![]()
Thank you good sir. You made me do a search on that one. What I lack in education I makeup for with Google.

A couple of months ago my son told about something called No Spend November as a test of self reliance. I’ve been thinking about it since. I’m excited to try it. Besides the stuff that automatically comes out of the account, the only exceptions I would make are prescriptions, the offering plate and a haircut. I have a fuel tank and too much food in the house. I did the shopping for the house. For awhile I was feeding 7 people, 3 horses and 3 German Shepherds. Now it’s just me and one old dog and my shopping has not fully adjusted. It will be good to use up some of that food. I’m looking forward to this.
Well now, i like this idea of no spend November. I must explain the concept to the wife. See shes got a problem with her finger Bam…it keeps hitting the “buy now” button on her phone, and everyday…low and behold, theres a Amazon prime van outside our door.
Good luck. When I asked my wife about all the packages coming to the house, she started having them delivered to her work.
That will teach you!
What about your wife?
She died shortly before I was diagnosed with cancer.
I’m sorry. But, I thought you have a girlfriend or fiancé?
Yes, she has her own house in town. We will probably keep both places after marriage until her daughter finishes high school.
Oh okay. I get it now. Good lyck with no spend Nov thing.
Thanks, if I fail I’ll post it.
Ahhhh…she was a pro lol
Great package delivery story. I say screw the November thing.
Good luck with second marriage. Having adjusted to widowerhood, now you have to remember to not ever praise first spouse in second’s presence. (I had to reluctantly sell my country residence to fix this). Even if you mess up on that one–which is hard as hell to master—we easily make great husbands. Remember also if second spouse dies before you, you’ll get a reputation.
I’m looking forward to the challenge.
Thanks, things are very good and different:
Last weekend we were driving to my place. A raccoon ran out along the road. I really wanted to stop and shoot it. I lost my favorite dog to coon dog paralysis. I’ve been conditioned not to shoot any critters when an adult female is present so I bit my lip and kept driving. My fiancé looked at me and said “why didn’t you shoot him, you know those things carry diseases”.
She is almost 10yrs younger and health conscious. I sure as hell hope that is something I don’t experience.
Picking a younger woman is wise. You’ll live longer for sure now.
My second wife gave away all my guns to keep house safe for grandchildren. I don’t hunt anymore, and no gun safe, so I didn’t notice for sbout a year. Adjustments… first wife would shoot the copperhead snakes in yard if I wasn’t home.
I can’t imagine. Some of my guns have sentimental value.
