Wanted to squat and bench today but ran out of time. Should have just benched after yesterday’s RDL’s but I still got my reps in.
Reminds me of my wife’s “Virgin Pina Colada”. Pinapple juice, cocnut milk, some pineapple chunks and no rum.

I agree. I have replaced my mailbox post couple of times. In full disclosure, the last time I did it myself when my foot slipped off the clutch while blowing snow.
I would not have admitted that, and I’ve done worse.

Have not been able to get to the gym on a regular basis lately. Really wanted to squat today, when I got in the gym and looked at my log I noticed that it has been 16 days since I benched. For the first time I benched in squat shoes and knee sleeves.

Felt good today
I saw a guy in the locker room that looked exhausted. I told him that he looked beat. He said “ I survived, when you get to be my age that’s all you can hope for “. I asked him how old he was. I didn’t tell him that we are the same age. I just agreed with him and said that’s pretty old.

I didn’t like the defeated mentality.I don’t like idea that we are just supposed to drink Geritol and do yoga after a certain age. I refuse to believe that my best lifts are behind me. Some couch potato my age might have 30yrs left and I might drop dead of a heart attack next week, but I got to know what it was like to push my limits.
I firmly believe that much of so-called “age-related decline” is not actually age-related, but lifestyle-related.
I think my best days and lifts are ahead of me. I’ve said before my dad was broken down when he was my age. I still feel young. I’m stronger now at 52 than when I was 32.

That is definitely the case for me but I didn’t start lifting until age 40
