Then you’re just holding yourself back dude.
If you KNEW the most valuable object in the world was wrapped up in ugly packaging would that stop you from opening it and benefiting from the object?

are you really equating this guys Pick Up Artistry to “the most valuable object in the world”??
In no video is “Pick up Artistry” the subject of his lecture. The ideas he discusses can be applied to any aspect of one’s life. You would know that if you actually watched the videos to completion instead of going a minute or two and stopping because you’ve been offended by his look or his speech or anything else…You completely missed the point of my analogy too.

he said he didnt watch the videos because he didnt like the way the guy looked.
you said “If you KNEW the most valuable object in the world (which you are implying is what he has to say) was wrapped in an ungly packaging (which you are implying is your mentor friend here with questionable style) would that stop you from opening it…”
how did I miss the point of your analogy?
Yes and you are seeing the tree and not the forest. I was more referring to the mentality of judging a book by its cover. There could be the most valuable information in it yet if the title or picture turns you off you would never open it. That to me silly.
Obviously not everyone is going to think Arash’s teachings are valuable. He ALWAYS mentions that he isn’t for everybody. And obviously you can tell by the way he looks, dresses and talks that he is okay with himself doesn’t give a shit about what others think or gaining their validation.
But I will say this though. Those who have a strongly negative reaction to Arash’s videos and go so far as to voice it on here have some level of insecurity which is being exposed when they watch the videos. I guarantee it, just as much as a guarantee someone or multiple people to respond to what I am saying right now by quoting and posting a million reasons why I am mistaken and blah blah blah…
If you’ve looked back on this thread you’ll notice that I’ve rarely argue or fought with these people. Sure there have been some back and forths but it IS my thread and I’m not going to be completely silent, especially when people are coming to misguided conclusions or completely false notions of what I’m posting (i.e. Roybot and his ranting). Rather you’ll find that I’ve either responded with humor, AGREED with you, or at times expressed my opinions in a well-thought out manner without blindly hating on others on here.
It’s just the fucking internet people. I love T-Nation and I figured I would put these videos of MY MENTOR (yeah he’s my mentor, you can keep hating on that too) so that more would be exposed to his stuff and what he’s putting out. If you hate the videos then stop coming back to this thread. It’s that fucking simple. If you love them or have any questions either keep coming back for more or shoot me a PM and we’ll talk. I love helping good, deserving people out, whether it’s fitness/nutrition advice, or talking about social dynamics, communication and life.

Just to try to put a little clarity on my stance . . .
I don’t have a problem with how he dresses or how he looks or how he speaks. I know some cool people with full sleeves and face tattoos and piercings. I know some good dudes who swear like a sailor all the time. But I’m not going to listen to a homeless guy drunk and stoned off his face talk about the secret of life and I’m not going to listen to somebody tell me how I can be successful when he doesn’t look the part. (That was an analogy, I’m not trying to say he’s homeless or drunk or stoned).
Am I judging the book by it’s cover? Absolutely. There’s too many books out there for me to read all of’em and I have to make a distinction as to which are worth reading somehow. Besides, when you’re doing stuff like this guy, you’re not just selling your ideas, you’re selling YOU. Maybe other people can look past everything and just hear what he’s saying, but I have this idea in my head of what the term successful means to me and what that looks like and what it will take to achieve it. This guy personifies none of that, and therefore I choose not to watch his videos. So in my opinion your analogy falls flat because in this case the wrapping is a part of the total package.
Just to see, I watched one of the videos in this thread to completion. My opinion has not changed. Conversely, I watched that video of Tony Robbins you posted, and wound up watching a couple others of him speaking. As opposed to watching Arash and thinking “Who is this guy and why should I care?” I found myself nodding and saying “Hey, what this guy is saying makes sense.” A clean cut guy in a suit (or some sort of business casual attire) who can speak well without resorting to profanity in almost every sentence is someone I’m much more likely to listen to. Maybe I’m shallow like that, I dunno, haha.
Look, if this guy is helping you and is a force for positive change in your life, then that’s awesome, seriously. I’m sure what wisdom he has is incredibly worthwhile for some people. I guess I’m just not going to be one of those people.
I also find it amusing how you “guarantee” anyone who’s come in here with a strong negative reaction has some form of insecurity. I might even fall into that category a little bit but to be honest it’s late and that’s beyond my introspective capabilities at the moment.
