I disagree with tightening the j-hooks, because, as it was pointed out earlier in this thread, not everyone is the same size. I don’t take pliers to the gym, and if went to do squats and couldn’t move the j-hooks, I’d be pretty pissed! My wife squats with me, so I have to move the hooks in between each set.
