I was just curious how everyone takes their creatine before their workouts because I would assume I would want to avoid an insulin spike right before I go to train. So if y’all could post your creatine regimines I would appreciate it. Thanks.
- Creatine is best used after training. 2. Don’t buy that Kool-aid kind, just get the powdered stuff.
I have the powdered kind and I wanted to use it both pre and post workout if possible. I just didnt know what the best way to do that would be.
Go to walmart. find the powdered creatine by EAS. Use it whenever. I loaded with about 30 grams a day then used 10 grams per day and i went from 230 to 235 in five days. Now im up to 245. Just use it. In the long run i dont think timing will make a huge difference.
ok everyone is missing my questoin - Is consuming it with a insulin spiking carb still considered necessary?
I think that the main consensus is that creatine is BETTER utilized by your bodies cells in the presence of insulin, at least that’s what I have read in about every article about creatine monohydrate. But I dont think (based upon experience) that one has to spike insulin for it to be effective…If I were you, and burning fat is an issue, I would take pure, straight powdered creatine in warm water before workouts, then post-workout, mix it in some grape juice or in your post workout protein/carb shake (I mix mine w/ Surge or Myoplex Mass) If fat burning is not a major issue for you, then you could mix your pre workout creatine in some warm juice to spike insulin, but again, i dont think its all that necessary before workouts, mostly after. I really dont think that products like Cell-Tech or Phosphagen HP that add sugars and taurine and all that are really any more effective than mixing creatine with meals or juice, or even water. Hope that helps man…
Thanks maclar I was wondering about that because both JMB and polquin seem to use just protein fat before workouts. Thanks again I appreciate the advice
