Funny about your 12 x 225 on raw DL. 225 would be a good pull for me. I pulled 215 raw easily last spring, which is almost 2x my bodyweight, but then I threw the gear on. It’s really inspiring to see how you’ve progressed in 2.5 years . . . going from a PR number to being able to rep it 12 times.

And yet you get some raw nazis who argue that gear impacts your raw strength. I don’t think I’ve pulled raw since last winter.
Reverse bands (mini bands)
135-4
155-3
165-1
225-2 with green bands just for a laugh
245-0
Squats to pin set at hip height (1/4 squatting)
135-5
185-3
225-3
245-4x3
For squats that weren’t deep, they were pretty tough. I think they hit at a transition point for me so it was mostly quad. That’s kind of what I was aiming for. When I’m in a suit and get heavy, I hit a point that I stall and have to force my hips through and the point is far north of the hole.
DB Bench
42-10,5
25-20,15,15
Good mornings
135-5x5
Frank trained with me despite training earlier in the day with Ruggerlife. RL was home with a sick child who was apparently impressed that both men were dressed in their dance outfits (squat suits). He said she also reported to them twice to let them know that first aid was available upstairs. I miss all the good stuff.
Also, RL, I don’t go in every meet going. There are some that I can miss. I was going to carry you out to the platform for your squats but I don’t think I will now.
curious, so when you work two or three main lifts, how long are these sessions taking? I am looking at this, and feel kinda pathetic that it takes me 3 hours just to get through bench some times

It takes us a couple of hours. We weren’t in gear. There really was only one main focus and it was bench. The reverse bands were a lark thrown in at the end and the partial squats were an assistance thing that were hammered through pretty quickly. The good morning and db presses were super set and went quickly.
Because I’m not close to a meet, I’m kind of straying a little bit from the usual and maybe doing too much but I figure now’s the time to play and have a bit of fun. I’d originally had 275 set up on my final set of reverse bands and thought better of it. There was only so much stupidity on tap tonight.

Now he’s just showing off! Yeah, the wee woman was pretty funny today.

haha.
You still can and then drop me just as we reach the bar. Wait forget I said that, I’ll walk out.
Nice benching by the way. I remember when that was pretty close to your shirted bench.

225-1 I couldn’t double it today. By the time I hit my last set, I was done in. My hips and knees are feeling it today.
This is my last three sets. A couple are high. I’ve been focusing on keeping tight in the bar with my back and not doing the pelvic tilt at the start.
Today we made a field trip to Toronto to train with the T-Rex club. The couple that has the garage gym that hosts the club are T-Nation members OBoile and Sensgurl. Also attending the training day were myself, Big Bencher and W.E.C. amongst others. Leading up to going down, Sensgurl invited us and let us know there’d also be a barbecue. I asked if she wanted us to bring anything. “Yes”, she says, “Bring some extra plates because Clint’s benching.” You know you’re a powerlifer when…
I did my typical weekend deadlift stuff
Deadlift straps down
135-5
225-3
275-3
295-1
305-1
315-3,3,4 My first time pulling three plates straps down. I felt like I could do a lot more. Much of it was purely atmosphere.
Deadlift to knees
135-5
155-5
185-3x5
CG Bench
95-3x8 First time CGing 95. One of the other ladies was using 155 so I wasn’t feeling too full of myself here.
Weighted situps/crunches on their ghr. Totally envious of that.
This was finished off by a group relay of prowler pushes. I ended up doing 7 runs with it. My ass and quads are killing me. I was pretty close to puking by the end. It was great.
The barbecue at the end was amazing with mounds of cooked meat and a ton of great conversation.
OBoile and Sensgurl, thanks for having us down. We haven’t had that much fun in a while. I’d forgotten how much impact atomosphere has on training.

Now. If you had put the pigtails in, you could have doubled it, I believe.
Somehow, I’ve not noticed until now how wide your stance is.
Nice squatting. I’d kill for those number. And, yeah, the green looks fab on you.[/quote]
I never realised how nice that green looks on me. Maybe it’ll be my new colour.
I think you’re right. Pigtails would have gotten me over the hump. At least I might have looked cute enough to forget how much my hips were hating me.
I don’t think my stance is all that wide. I think it’s more of an optical illusion due to my leg length. I get more distracted watching the video noticing that my knees hyperextend and I really do kind of resemble some splay legged giraffe.
So I went out to my van this morning to get the plates that we’d taken with us yesterday and discovered that my van’s been stolen. I think it was just some idiot joy riding and we’ll discover it not too far away. There was barely any gas left. I’ll be really pissed if my plates are gone. Also, we got some heavy rubber mats for our gym from the T-Rex guys. Those were still in the van as well. They better be there too. Given that it took a few of us to get them in the van, it’s unlikely that anyone will do anything with them. I hope.

Sucks. Between you and Snapper the automotive karma has not been good this week.
Actually, I took my car in for service on Friday. Was planning on an $800 bill…came to $2100. Yay.
