Snap - hadn’t even done the association until you mentioned it…
O gets bruised by her handler in the garage/dungeon. tres spicy ;)
I love the dog pictures too. Maybe I’ll start adding my kitten pictures. They’re really cute. One is like a typical cat. The other one is like a kitten on heroine. I’ve never seen such a boneless, schmoob of a cat. He’ll lie on my chest with his head between my boobs and move wherever I put him. I swear, he’s so mellow he, at the very least is flaming up in the garage when I’m at work.
Friday August 6
Squat
45-10
115-5
155-3
195-1
235-3 straps down
250-2x3 "
280-2x2 straps up both sets were parallel
300-1 depth was good
280-2x2 This is my opener and I had to go back and do them again to make sure I was good on depth. We played around again with Frank wrapping.
250-3 straps down
Bench-light
75-8x3
DB push press
32-10,7,8,8,9
super set with
BB rows
115-5x5
I was surprised at how hard the presses were and I made the point that the same amount of weight i.e. 65lbs on a barbell is far easier. To prove my point I did a set at the end of everything for 19.
Monday night Ruggerlife is coming over to squat and bench. I won’t be training so the focus of the evening will be him. Stay tuned for reports

I find DB exercises WAY harder than barbell stuff, probably because with BB things my weaker left side is helped out by my stronger right side.
Absolutely right, Kimba. I never could press more than the 35s. But I could bench a lot more than 35 x 2.

Damn fine squatting, its cool that you have plenty of people around to train with.
It is nice to have people to train with. I think it has a very real impact on your progression.
Today, I’m waiting to dead lift. Frank is still asleep from working nights and I’m getting ansty. I think I’ll head out and cut the lawn. In the meantime, I’ve made three separate batches of jam this weekend; cherry, blueberry/orange and cherry/peach. All the best fruit is in season right now and I’m working overtime trying to get it into jars. Something about canning is very zen to me.
If you make too much you can always ship em up north - I love good jam so much I eat it straight out of the jar with a spoon. Is canning something your family does? I know I love raspberries because me great grandmother and my grandmother both used to have bushes and I’d sneak out as a toddler after I’ve had my bath to grab a few last handfuls for the day.
my mother: N, have you been at the raspberries again after I told you not to? You’ll get belly aches again.
me: no Mom.
my mother: then why are your mouth and hands all red?

I agree about the people you train with having a impact on ones progress. I only know only one other guy close to me in this area that is into any real type of strength training. At that would be the "damutt"But we work at different times so training together isnt possible.

I only vaguely remember my mom doing any canning and it was old school with the wax in the tops of the jars (that I poked my finger through and got a whack for). I just like to get creative and try new things. I’ve made strawberry with lavender a few times as well as strawberries with balsamic vinegar and black peppercorns. I use the pepper or spicy ones with cheese or to make glaze for meat. I just love the abundance of the fruit in summer. I’m particularly partial to peaches and cherries.
I may try some vegetables in oil this year like mushrooms and garlic.
Deadlift
135-5
225-3
245-2,2
275-4x2
All reps were straps down/no belt.
This is my last dead lifting before the meet. Now I’m just recovering.
Walk outs and 1/4 squats - on the heavier weights I did 2 - 1/4 squats. It’s amazing how much easier it is to bob with the weight than walk with it. The funny thing is the depth is what you often see in commercial gyms.
work up from 135, 225, 275
315-straps down/belt
365-straps up/belt/wraps
405-"
425-" walked it out, bobbed it but couldn’t walk it in. I just lowered it to the pins which is why I have them set high.
Weighted sit ups plate behind the head/legs flat on the floor in a v
10lbs-3x20
Tricep roll things
15-3x8
After making jam and cutting the grass, I laid out my attempts and warm ups for the meet. Right now the look like:
Squat: 127.5 (281), 140.0 (309), 145-150 (319-330) depending on what my second looks like.
Bench: 65.0 (143), 70.0 (154), 72.5-75 (160-165) again depends on second
Dead: 145 (319), 155 (341), 165 (363)
If I get my seconds on squat and bench and third on dead, I’ll have elite which is 375 kg at my weight class. Right now my focus is on getting my ass down on my squat opener and making my final pull.

god damn those are some good looking numbers. Go get that Elite jusr so we can drop in and call you that every day. Mme Elite, sounds very nice.

When I get elite, I’m going to put on my red leather boots and I can be Mistress Elite hahaha.
The said thing is, although this is a big goal of mine, it doesn’t even make any kind of anything when compared to the women who lift at open worlds. They are my inspiration.

I vote for a deadlift video wearing red leather boots
…rest of outfit is optional.
