Pour Some Sugar on Me

O_b_s…looking good, paring down training for the meet.
Youll tear it up.

Keep us posted on ZMA I went to buy some and shit was like 39$ in the big city.

Nice training ginger kid… see ya guys in Belle River… Frank and I will have a celebratory birthday beer together… is he old enough to drink?

No but I encourage under age drinking. It makes people so much more pliable and amenable. Didn’t I also read in G.A.L. that it erodes morals?

Wednesday May 26

I spent a lot more time warming up than I normally do. I’ve kind of let this go by the wayside and I think I’m paying for it now. I added OH squats with just the bar to my warm up.

Bench
45-10
75-3
95-3
105-3x3
110-2x2
115-2
110-2x2

Squat speed
115-8x3

Good mornings
135-5x5

DB press
25-4x10

I’m still doing the bicep rehab stuff with the DB. It got up to 28 today and hot and sticky doesn’t quite cover what we looked like when we were done. Just to add to the excitement, Frank squeezed me into a custom super katana. I’d been in it several times before but I’m trying to stretch the sleeves using reverse clamps and I wanted to see if it was good. At the end of a workout, sweating and puffy isn’t the time to try it. He mentioned something about trying to stuff a wet otter into a wet suit.

wet otter in a wet suit  priceless. You make lifting at home sound ummm wonderfull

oh, and your goodmornings are awesome!

Nice lifting, it must be nice to have somebody on hand to help get you dressed.

It is very nice. I’d never get into a bench shirt by myself. Usually when you’re competing, you have someone to ‘handle’ you. They submit your numbers, help with warm ups, let you know where you are in the line up so you know when to wrap and they help you dress. He also helps with the undressing which is a super added bonus.

I thought it was all about the shirt jack.

you kids and your s&m props.

Your good mornings. Would be interested to see a vid of your form.

I don’t think the shirts/suits are latex or rubber. But, I think you are on to something…definite possibilities.

I set up almost like a squat with a wider stance and slightly bent knees. This is from last November: goodmornings 135 lbs - YouTube

I may stop them for a little bit. They seem to be aggravating my lower back issues. I’ve also started going heavier and using a belt. That’s a lot of fun.

Wrist wraps came up last night as well

The powerlifting type? Or the fuzzy ones that require a key?
As an ex-cop, I always just went for the real handcuffs. They so set the mood

The powerlifting kind. We had a laugh when one of the loops from the wraps got caught between the bar and the rack hooks and he had to unpin me. He threatened to leave me there.

Thanks for the video. And you really snapped those back up from the bottom.
I keep getting told that I need to do them, but the scare me. (low back issue) Always good to see how someone else does them.

My wife has likewise threatened, when I am doing board presses. We are still wondering if she could pull the boards out if I got pinned. I’m not thinking so.

Thanks for the vid. I was particularly interested in seeing how much knee bend you have and how far you go forward. You do have great snap back from the bottom position like LittleStrick said. I plan to use a belt when I can return to doing them.

Friday May 28
This is my last real training day before the meet. This morning I went to my ART guy and I’m not sure what he did by my left adductor is tight and painful. It feels like it’s pulled. I know it isn’t but it started to tighten up during the day and squats were really painful. It hurt to go below parallel and pushing out of the hole was ugly.

squat
45-10
115-5
155-3
195-1
Once I got the suit on things were less painful because I got support in the hurty area.
205-2x3 suit on straps down
225-2x3 same
235-3x2 same
260-1 straps up. This is my opener. It was picture perfect which is a nice way to head into a meet.

bench speed
75-8x3

MP
55-10,7,10

Tomorrow morning we are out at 6 to hit the Windsor area by 9 for the high school provincials. I’m going to be writing an article about the high school program for the OPA newsletter so I’m going to be disguised as Peter Parker. It should be a fun social kind of day.

Windsor? Throw a wave across the river when you get there. I live in the Detroit area.

Then your a stone’s throw away from the meet Bunny and Ouro are competing in next week. Well a stone throw if you have a really good arm and can skip it across the river, then get a nice roll down the highway.
