The eggs of Easter Island…

I’m a goof.

How runny excactly the yolk should be depends, but overcooking eggs is like overcooking steak, aka heresy.

I once worked with this guy who manage to fuck up a whole batch of sous vide eggs right before service. Whatever his temp/time ratio was it made eggs with solid yolks and practically liquid whites.

I can do that with my eyes closed.

The mistake, that is. I don’t have the foggiest notion of how to sous vide eggs.

dafuq???

I used to get Siracha flavored coconut oil and cook everything with it. Eggs came out dynamite. But then they discontinued the flavor.

That’s almost impressive. Hahah.

Tex-Mex is way better than authentic Mexican food.

Public skating rinks should only rent out hockey skates. Anybody who gets any value from a toepick owns their own skates. Renting them out is just a sick joke.

As a Southerner, I have no idea what any of that means. Hell, a skating rink means roller skating.

You sound like a Canadian Karen who runs the HOA.

If you want to piss them off, ask them to clarify if they mean field hockey or ice hockey.

Makes them feel a little light in their loafers.

I live in Arizona and have never actually played hockey. I skate a few times a year because my wife enjoys it. Today, I went skating with the family and apparently I was looking extra fabulous or the girl at the skate counter was having a laugh because she gave me figure skates. I, as previously mentioned, don’t know much about skates and don’t notice the difference until I face plant after catching a pick.

All I’m saying is that as an inexperienced skater, I have no actual use for a toe pick and it makes just a leisurely skate that much harder and more dangerous. My wife, who enjoys figure skating and does some tricks, owns her own skates because apparently you can’t really do any lthing very difficult in rental skates anyways because the edges are terrible and the fit and balance aren’t right. She can do things that require a toe pick but would never do that on rental skates anyways.

It’s not that toe picks are bad in general. But people that casually rent skates are just getting faceplanted by them. End of rant.

That’s a really informative story and I learned some new things, thank you.

I’m sorry I insinuated you were Canadian.

You have an opportunity here. We have ice (water) hockey, field (earth) hockey, table (air) hockey, but no fire hockey.

Do you rollerblade?

No. I rollerbladed a bit as a teenager, but not much and none for decades.

I grew up occasionally ice skating in figure skates in the northeast, then spent 15 years in Texas, where I spent a good bit of time rollerblading. When I returned to the north and ice skating rinks, I had to switch to hockey skates. The figure had become unnatural to me.

I think it’s just a matter of what you’re used to.
