You also have to spend or pay for someone to maintain the shit out of them.
Getting them ready and saddled, etc.
I can jump in my side by side and just go any time and it never gives me shit.

Like owning a German car.
Man, there are some stables over the hill that are in a whole different stratosphere.
The following two statements seem very similar but are actually very different.
He is using data to demonstrate the first and then claiming the second.
I do both: horses are far more dangerous and there is a difference between falling and getting dumped by the horse. I can train a horse from unstarted to show ring.
Bike are fun, danger level depend on what you do. Commuter bike are rather safe. BMX, dirt jumper and MTB then to cause more injury.
The only plus of a well trained horse as a mean of transport, is that it can bring you back home if you are lost or intoxicated.
Lettuce disagree then ![]()

I went bowhunting one time when I was a teenager on some public land. Dressed head to toe in full camo, hiking into where I wanted to post up through a fire break.
Some lady on a horse riding the other way down the break gets pissy with me because her horse doesnāt like the sight of a moving tree and starts freaking out. Horse riders were not allowed on the firebreak trails per signage.
I told her to fuck off and then another quarter mile up I called the game warden on her and her riding partner. I might have been a little too sour in that moment.
Get some Indian ponies that donāt blink an eye at whatever nature throws at them.
Ride bareback.
Still far better than a horse. I have had multiple German cars. Have one currently.
No doubt. Too rich for my blood.
My side by sides donāt blink an eye and can take far more damage.
My vehicles seats are much more comfortable and controlled by a brain that is somewhat larger.
I can agree with that.
Iād say the error is specifically presenting correlation as causation. He could have and should have presented it more as improving quality of life which is proven with basically every form of exercise.
Can you get a DUI on a horse? I actually donāt know. I know they have given them to people on bikes.
Maybe British car would have been a better comparison.
Yeah, thatās basically the same thing. I just find the correlation/causation criticism to be overdone so that people donāt really engage with it critically.
While biking probably makes you healthier, people that choose to bike were probably healthier to begin with. That doesnāt really get into the fact that he chooses to compare danger based on time rather than distance. Although he acknowledges the problem with this, he also brushes it off about how people choose to drive farther. But that is not a fair rebuttal. Unless I am biking or riding purely as a leisure activity, the distance traveled is what really matters.
I like about 4 miles from work and usually bike. But if on a given day, I ask myself which method of transportation is less likely to lead to my death on the way to work, driving is safer. You have to do a lot of mental gymnastics to get to his conclusion.
Oh so you used to be a Nazi ![]()
Excuse me.

Depends on the state.
Some states you can.
Mexican pizza is better than Italian pizza.
There is no such thing as Mexican pizza.
