Post Your 2011 Goals!

Is it too early to bump this thread?

We’ve got about 3 weeks of 2011 left. Where’s everyone at? If you haven’t reached a goal yet, are you going to go for it this month? Anyone already plotting for next year?

Well I didn’t post mine :frowning:
Beyond BUMMED!

I know that my main goal would have been some arbitrary scale number.

I also know I got to that weight and then below it.

I also know that getting below that weight made me realize what i need is MORE MUSCLE LOL.

Dreamer bulk!

My goals is to not set any goals for 2012. FUCK IT! Enjoying the ride this time around.

first… omg where the fuck is bobbi?? still in sunny sd i suppose. i miss the bitch. don’t think i’ve even seen her on fb in ages. come back girl!!!

some 2011 goals:

 • turn 30 the leanest i’ve been in my adult life
 • bw military press
 • 325 lb dl for a triple (for snap = 2.5 x’s bw x 3)
 • 190 lb front squat (for snap = 1.5 x’s bw)
 • 75 lb db snatch
2nd… i sucked balls this year and used moving across the country on pretty much a whim as an excuse not to hit any of my goals. lol

least it makes for an easy 2012 list!!!

So here were my 2011 goals, with commentary:

Kimba’s 2011 goals

 1. Not get injured.

Ha ha ha! I will NEVER FUCKING WRITE THIS SHIT ever again. I spent most of the year nursing a sore IT band

 1. Continue to fit into my size 25 Hudsons.

Check. See avi.

 1. Run a 5K race fast.

I just picked up my race bib. The 5K is Sunday and I’m going for it.

 1. Get a 200 lb. sumo deadlift. This requires me to add 15 lbs. to my best DL.

Well, I pulled 190 lbs. ugly back in May. So I only have 10 lbs. to go. But I have no interest in pulling with a rounded back, so I’ll continue to plod along and work on my lower back strength before pushing it.

 1. Get a 135 lb. squat with no knee cave. I know I can squat 130 lbs. with horrible, terrible form, but that’s not what I’m looking for.

Ha, ha, ha! Knee cave is still making me her little bitch.

 1. Get a 100 lb. bench press. I need 8 lbs. more for this one.

I got a 95 lb. bench in March, so I’ve made a bit of progress. I’m actually more optimistic about this lift than I am for my poor, poor squat.

 1. Get a 70 lb. military press. This is probably the hardest goal of them all.

My best MP is 65 lbs. This is the only lift goal I’m tempted to try for before the end of December.

get that millie kimba!!! THAT is your bitch!!

Mine are in my own thread but basically, lose weight, do a handstand, the splits, 10 chins and a half-marathon. Nothing weight-based, though, as I’ve got too many injury problems. I’m putting more emphasis on mobility/flexibility and functionality.
Lose weight - well I originally said my goal was to hit 140. Lowest I got was 151lbs but I’ve put some back on this last couple of weeks. Hrmm. Face it, I am fucking greedy.

Handstand - they are getting better but I can’t hold it up there - I can kick up into it but either tend to overcook it or don’t get up high enough to start with. On the occassions I get it just right, I can hold it for a couple of seconds, no more. So yeah, still working on this.

Splits - no. I have been fucking lazy about my flexibility.

10 chins - no. I got 3 but I need to lose a lot of weight first.

Half marathon - YES! Although the foot injury has scuppered my running plans for the future. 2 hrs 18 - slow but I got it done.

On the other hand, I did improve my squatting and have resumed deadlifting so there are some wins.

acheived: foam rolling, stretching and warming up as a habit.

squats: goal 225 from 185. reached 205lbs
bench: goal 160 from 150. reached 155
deads: goal 315 from 280. reached 305.
pullups: goal 5 unassited. haven’t focused on these one bit. will give them a try on Monday to see where I stand.

I’d say I’ve hit halfway point as planned.

not planning to add anything new. just focusing on finishing the race at this point.
Hit my goal of squating 225 AND did a double in October - yeah me!! as is the case with lifting when one goes really well, the others stagnate so I’m not going to cry. I’ve had a hard time benching anything near 155 so I’m taking the 5lbs for 2011 and going for 160 in 2012. As for the deads I know I have it in me. I just need to psych myself for it. For one thing I’ve been getting used to heavier ramp ups (by 20’s instead of 10) which means less overall fatigue. Also, next time I try I’ll set up with a bunch of smaller plates. Sometimes playing with my head the first time I pull makes all the difference. We’ll see if I can get this by the end of the year.

don’t care about the chins. they are not on my radar at all.

I guess I was pretty new when I made my goals and I didn’t really know how feasible they were at the time…

1.5x bodyweight deadlift

10kg to go.

1x bodyweight front squat
1x bodyweight overhead squat (ha!)

nope. but I did back squat it for a triple, and I’ll take that.

10 chin-ups, 1 pull-up

nope. making progress on chin-ups now, though, and can do a bunch of doubles.

bodyweight overhead press (pp or jerk ok)
clean 'n jerk bodyweight
snatch bodyweight (ha!)

nah. a bit of progress on these, but not heaps. i’m feeling very beat up and old and decrepit. achy. need to focus / prioritize mobility / rehab / prehab. coming to realize that my biggest goal of all might be to live an active life (including snatching and stuff) relatively painfree. pain is a bitch. i’ve kind of had enough.

if i don’t get 'em in 2011 hopefully i’ll get 'em in 2012

yeah. maybe.

Interesting. I totally forgot about this thread. My goals changed quite dramatically over the year after finally being diagnosed with an ACL tear and subsequently having reconstructive surgery.

1)100 push-ups and chin-ups a week: - nope, tennis elbow did that one in
2)BW bench press: Nope - wiping out on my longboard did that one in
3)150 lb no pain squat: I was front squatting pain free before my surgery, but not quite 150.
4)1.5x BW deadlift (210 lbs) - Yeah! Hit 225 pre-surgery. I’ll have to get that back now.
5)10 consecutive chins - nope, still chinning though.
6)Be nicer to myself - I actually think I achieved this just because I barely played any sports this year. I don`t have the venue to be hard on myself.

So, I’m 1 for 5 on the year. However I did get my knee injury properly diagnosed and fixed this year. That was huge for me. At 4 months post-op I have a pretty good idea of what my long term goals for 2012 would be.

2011 GOALS

 1. 25 fucking pullups
 2. +45lb weighted pullups (a set of three).
 3. 300lb DL. (maybe more of a dream).
 4. To hit (what I believe are my current 1 rep maxes) 225 DL, 150 Squat, and 100 Bench for some serious reps.
1. Last time I tested, in april, I could do 17. Historically, I have been able to add a pullup a month. So, if all goes well I should hit 25 by December.

 2. Not working the weighted right now.

 3. Hmm. Have pulled 265 on two separate occasions, but recently missed it. But, this dream-goal is on hold for the pullups. Next year for sure.

4a DLS: I’ve pulled my start of the year DL max, 225, for reps x5. And in three more cycles, I get to beat that.

4b Squat: My squat 1 rep max has increased from 150 to 175. I haven’t work up to squatting 150 for reps yet, but I will before the end of the year.

4c Bench: My bench 1 rep max has increased from 100 to 115. And I’ve benched 100x6 so far.
1. 24 pullups.
 2. Still no weighted. But, I do feel ready to add those back in. must ask pullup guy.
 3. DL 275 is my best. I hoped to improve on this but Sciatica held me back some here. That is under control now though!
 4. As far as repping my former 1 rep maxes, I did pretty well here. Yeah 5-3-1 is the shit:

4a: DLS: max went from 225-275. And I repped 225 x10.

4b: Squat: max 150-175–no change from middle of year. Haven’t repped at 150 yet. Have done 145x5 and 155x3.

4c: Bench: max 100-120. repped 100x6

No plans to set any prs before the end of the year.

2012 goals

Carrying over the pullup and the DL goal, of course. I hope to improve my squat quite a bit, but I don’t have a number in mind there.
No bench goals.

Running goal better than 6 min mile.

Gymnastics. I’m at a loss. I have unmet goals here. press handstand, bhs on beam, some semblance of a bar routine…

Dance: I want to do a tilt!
Mascherano wrote:
^ HAHA! whatever you’re on, I want some.

No seriously, I’m a completely coachable individual, so i like the way you think Bobbi.

My goals were in my log, but here they are:

Long term:
To be a lean, mean machine
11 pullups (11 in 11!) both in neutral grip and pronated
Oh - and this one I forgot somehow - continue to learn Oly lifting

Short term:
DL conv 5x195
DL Sumo 5x225
DB press 65s
Tryout for WPS once and for all!
Hai guyz!!!

I saw this thread was bumped and I had to chime in because I’m literally LOLing at the goals I set! Too funny…So yeah, that’s a no, no, no and…no.

AND, of course, in proper Mascherano fashion I’ve royally fucked myself by saying I wanted 11 pullups in 2011! HAHAHAHA! Oh fuckity fuck me. I swear to god in heaven I will drop kick pullups when I’m done with this challenge. DROP KICK THEM!

And where the f*ck is Bobbi!! That beezy better get back here, or else!

Bout the only thing I’ve achieved this year is maintaining my sanity(barely!)
and my pant size. It’s been a tough year.

2012 is going to kick ass.

I started the compound lifts 1 year ago.

My bench press 1RM was 90 when I started logging it in February 2011.

Now I can bench 90x8! Owning it! Say what you want about beginner’s gains but I was pretty thrilled to see so much improvement.

Don’t ask about my squat.

Thank you! The 1RM calculator says my bench 1RM should be 112 but I haven’t tried it. Still, I was so thrilled.

Frenchie - I’m not holding my breath. I think I’d need to find a coach to help me with my squat. And I know it’s partly mental for me.

I’m putting a plug in for a new PPuff log. I’d love to see the progression of the Legs.

(with a capital L)

New to the lifting. My first year anniversary is this February.

I love this sport and this sight. All of you are an inspiration. Thank you so much for sharing. I read then I read some more. Learning from all of you. So you can all hear my excitement!!! cool.

My goals this year.

I dead lift work weight at 225 would like to be at 275

Trap Bar work weight at 245 would like to be at 275… just hit pr of 320
For some reason the trap bar is so much easier for me.

back squat…115 …180…can do it now with bad form

can do 10 pullup in row, 5 with 5lbs wight, would like it to be 10 in a row weighted.

Want to do more with walk outs, hip thrusts, and build my grip with rack pulls.
Did Walk outs with 185… can do much more.
Increase my upperbody.

will always take advice. You women are strong and beautiful… thanks for having me.
